House of the Dragon Episode 10

House of the Dragon Finale has elevated the show’s quality to a different ballpark altogether. The prequel of Game of Thrones started out great with a very strong pilot and each episode since simply took the show’s quality to new levels. The show wasn’t even bothered by the recasting of the main characters. Fans simply adored the carefully crafted narrative that was so investing. The pilot of the show became HBO Max’s biggest debut with 10 Million viewers. The most recent ratings reports suggests that the prequel has garnered an audience of 29 Million on an average which is the best for any show after Game of Thrones’ Season 8 which had 44 Million viewers on an average. The last 4 episodes of the show was simply unparalleled to anything we’ve seen all year.

The finale saw Aemond’s dragon-Vhagar chewing up Luke’s dragon-Arrax. Rhaenyra finds this news and her stare suggests war. The finale had packed some great performances especially from Emma D’Arcy as Rhaenyra. The finale was so emotional yet action packed. The callbacks and parallels that the creators drew added that touch of personal connection and care. It is true that this kind of experience can only be perceived from the Game of Thrones world. No other fantasy world is able to invest you in this manner in its characters and politics. The hatred you have towards the villains almost feels personal and so is the love for the protagonist. The standout performers from this season were Milly Alcock and Emma D’Arcy as Rhaenyra, followed by Paddy Considine as King Viserys I, Matt Smith as Daemon Targaryen and Emily Carey as Young Alicent.

If I had to bet then Paddy Considine will win an Emmy next for best supporting actor. Three years after the terrible finale, it feels like the GOT universe is alive again. I can’t wait for Season 2. I know it will be out sometime in 2024 and trust me life till then will be grim. I love where this season has left all characters and it looks like I’m not the only one as we have got the ratings of Season 1 finale and they’re best since Game of Thrones.

House of the Dragon Episode 10 Spoilers, Leaks, and Full Plot Summary for Finale

House of the Dragon Episode 10 was superb and that is not only in the quality of the content but rather in ratings as well. After a day of its release we have now finally gotten the ratings of the finale and they’re humungous. Episode 10, titled “The Black Queen”, was watched by 9.3 million viewers, according to Warner Bros. Discovery (via Variety), HBO’s most-watch season finale since Game of Thrones season 8 concluded with 19.8 million viewers in 2019. The figure includes viewers on the HBO cable channel and HBO Max on the night of.

In my opinion, this figure is bigger then we can realize. Before the debut of the prequel the biggest concern everyone had was the fallout of Game of Thrones Season 8′ finale. Many fans including me were so disappointed by it that many experts said it is very difficult for the fanbase to to return and invest themselves in a royal saga. However, House of the Dragon has defied expectations and performed extraordinarily. Although, this isn’t the only reason why this number is special.

HOTD’s finale numbers outperform GOT’s Season One finale big margin which was watched by only 3.9 million viewers. Additionally, House of the Dragon Season One’s narrative was set across 20-25 years. We are talking about recasts, time jumps and all kind of narrative disruptions and yet, the prequel managed to sustain an audience this big. If it was a one timeline story like Game of Thrones then I believe the number will be higher and guess what Season 2 won’t feature any time jumps.

Which means Season 2 has the potential to reach Game of Thrones’ 44 Million number and even surpass it. House of the Dragon is supposed to run for at least 5 season according to the showrunners.

House of the Dragon has an incredible ensemble cast that includes Paddy Considine, Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, Fabien Frankel, Sonoya Mizuno, and Rhys Ifans. Along with the main cast, the supporting cast of the show includes- Milly Alcock, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Emily Carey, Harry Collett, Ryan Corr, Tom Glynn-Carney, Jefferson Hall, David Horovitch, Wil Johnson, John Macmillan, Graham McTavish, Ewan Mitchell, Theo Nate, Matthew Needham, Bill Paterson, Phia Saban, Gavin Spokes, Savannah Steyn, and more.

All ten episodes of House of the Dragon Season One are currently streaming on HBO Max or Disney+. New episodes will debut on every Sunday or Monday on HBO and HBO Max or Disney+ Hotstar depending on the region you live in, at 9 pm or 6.30 am.
