House of the Dragon Season 2 Episode 1 Spoilers and Summary

  • Title – A Son for A Son
  • Duration – 64 Min
  • Directed By – Alan Taylor
  • Written by – Ryan Condal

HOTD Season 2 Episode 1 begins  with the raven arriving to the Wall with the news of Luke’s death. But the first thing we see of KL is Alicent and Cole having sex, straight at it. Apparently, she then says they shouldn’t do it anymore (so it seems like it’s not their first time?). Rhaenyra finds Luke’s remains (his dragon’s actually), and there’s an emotional scene with Jace returning to tell her “he got the North for her”. They cry together and they introduce Jaehaerys in the throne room.

He’s in the council room too and Aegon argues with Lannister ’cause he wants the boy to stay with them (apparently the kid is really sweet and just runs around and “does what he wants”, LOVE that for him) we see Aemond in the council room, Alicent is still mad at him, but Aegon says “he is my brother, I want him here”, Otto agrees. Otto and Alicent believe that “Aegon will do as he’s told” and that they can control him, meanwhile Aegon tells one of his friends “they think they can control me but they are wrong”. Hel foresees B&C: she’s talking to Aegon and he tells her he wants to “educate prince how to be king”, and she says that she’s scared, to which Aegon replies “don’t worry, we’ll get them” (he thinks she’s scared of the war, I presume), but she then says “no, I’m scared of the rats”.

NOW TO B&C specifically. Daemon wants to go take out Vhagar while Rhae is gone but Rhaenys stops him and says the Queen should decide. Rhaenyra comes back and says “I want Aemond”, then leaves, Daemon takes the order. Mysaria is summoned and she suggests to Daemon to call for Blood & Cheese. Daemon sneaks into KL, pays the guard and Cheese, asks them to bring him the head of Aemond. They go upstairs, pass through the throne room (Aegon is drunk with his friends), and can’t find Aemond in his chambers.

Cheese (or Blood, not sure – one of them is described as crazy, I think it’s supposed to be Blood) looses his temper, finds Helaena, and sees the twins. “We’ve been told a son for a son, this is a son” (Maelor is not there). One of them takes knife to Helaena’s neck (we saw that in the trailer) but they can’t tell the twins apart, so he asks her to point at the boy. Hel is panicking, and offers her necklace, but it doesn’t work. Eventually they decide to strip them naked to see who’s the boy so she has no other choice than to tell them. Blood trusts her and they go for the boy.

The murder happens off screen, but we hear the sounds. Hel picks up Jaehaera and runs into Alicent’s chambers – and comes in on them having sex with Criston the episode ends with Alicent’s shocked face as she realizes what happened. Apparently, there is A LOT of blood and nudity in House of the Dragon Season 2 EP2 – one of the killers is caught, so that’s gonna be bloody. That is pretty much all we know about the episode in a gist and rest of the details can only be learned after watching the episode day after tomorrow.
