HBO’s The White Lotus will resume pre-production of Season 3. According to Deadline, now that the WGA strike is over, one of HBO’s top three priorities is to start production of the season. In November 2022, Mike White celebrated the renewal of Season 3 just a few weeks into the show’s second season. “There’s no place I’d rather work than HBO, and there are no people I’d rather partner with than Casey Bloys, Francesca Orsi, Nora Skinner, and their incredible team,” he said. “I feel so lucky to get this opportunity again and am excited to reunite with my amazingly talented collaborators on The White Lotus.” Season 3 will be written by Mike White. According to Variety, The White Lotus Season 3 is set to be filmed in Thailand.
The White Lotus Season 3 Release Date and Cast
Speaking with Deadline back in late May, HBO’s head of drama Francesca Oris provided updates for The White Lotus Season 3. “We were looking at ‘The Last Of Us’ for some time in 2025. And the show was ideally looking to go in 2024 but there’s some question about the timing of the strike.” A late 2024 or early 2025 release date for season 3 seems most likely.
Creator Mike White has already given updates on the setting. “The first season kind of highlighted money, and then the second season is sex. I think the third season would be maybe a satirical and funny look at death and Eastern religion and spirituality. It feels like it could be a rich tapestry to do another round at White Lotus,” according to Variety.
The expected cast members to be in The White Lotus Season 3 are Jennifer Coolidge, Natasha Rothwell, Connie Britton, Michael Imperioli, and John Gries.Season 1 and 2 are now streaming on Max.
