Netflix announced that Pedro Alonso (Berlin) is planning another intricate heist in the City of Love aka Paris in his prequel series, Berlin. The only difference in this heist is this time it would be a jewel heist. We also see that a mysterious woman in his life would be a huge factor. Berlin would take place before the events of the original series – Money Heist, so naturally the show’s timeline would be before Berlin met the Professor and the others. Love seems to be like a major theme of the series. The show’s creator revealed the show will be, “a trip through the golden age of the character, when he robbed around Europe crazy in love.” The show was supposed to drop in December but we had no confirmation from the streaming giant about the official release date. Well, we got it now.
Berlin Series Teases The Greatest Heist Ever!
Netflix has released another teaser that acts as a date announcement video. The video reveals that the prequel series will start streaming on Netflix from December 29th, 2023. The series will be an eight episodes event and much like every Netflix series, the show will drop all the episodes at once. Berlin is becoming a reality because it is part of a very strong IP. One huge element for the show’s success was the character of Berlin who was adored by fans. He appeared in the first two parts of the show.
At the end of part two, the character died. However, the later seasons had a subplot from the past that kept the character in the loop and fans could see their favorite character at regular intervals. The creator also teased that the prequel would be funny which is a big departure from the original show which resorted to intense drama with a few jokes tossed in. As of now, it is unclear whether characters from the original show like the Professor would make an appearance in the show but let’s hope they do have some cameos.
As the show is supposed to release this December, Netflix would soon release a full length trailer where we’d get more idea about the show’s plot and characters.

Pedro Alonso will lead the show with support from Marcel Gonzalez, Miko Jarry, Tristán Ulloa, Michelle Jenner, Julio Peña, and Begoña Vargas, among others. Berlin will be available for streaming from December 29th 2023 on Netflix.
