Better Call Saul Season 6 Episode 11 – Walter White and Jesse Pinkman Cameos

Let’s start by talking about the elephant in the room – the cameos of Walter White and Jesse Pinkman. They were long awaited and so much hyped that honestly, they failed to deliver. It was the rest of the things going on in the episode, which make the episode incredible but the cameo alone fell a bit short. However, that is not the end of it as we’ll see more of Heisenberg in Episode 12. Yes, that’s right, Episode 11 ended with Saul about the enter the science fare to meet Walt, while simultaneously Gene broke in a man’s house.

Both of them are poor choices which will have consequences that Saul / Gene failed to consider. After meeting Walt and Jesse, Mike advised him against being involved with them but he didn’t heed is advice. There were two shots in the cameo I want to talk about. First, Jesse Pinkman portrayed by (a now much older) Aaron Paul asked Saul about Lalo, which didn’t quite hit as much as it should have. Second, when the fan-service RV left the desert, the shot smoothly transitioned from grave dug for Saul to Gene lying on his bed. It basically symbolized the moment Saul began his journey towards the end. Now whether or not this means, Gene would die at the end, remains to be seen.

Will Kim Wexler and Saul Goodman Reunite?

Better Call Saul Season 6 Kim Wexler Gene Saul Goodman

Talking about the Gene scenes, the episode managed to run some amazing and symbolic parallels between the two timelines. Gene has decided to break bad once again, but what is exactly the reason? We know what he did in ‘Nippy’ was to save himself from Jeff’s blackmail. But what is this new ripping off lonely guys scheme for? I believe the answer lies in his call with Kim Wexler.

Towards the beginning of the episode, Gene contacted Francesca, who gave him updates about everything going on. Among all that, she mentioned that Kim contacted after the events of Breaking Bad and asked about Gene/Saul/Jimmy. Upon hearing this, he decided to call Kim Wexler and was seen yelling and later slamming and destroying the telephone booth. So, it seems like Gene’s plan might involve getting more money to evade into a new life with Kim. What are your theories about why Gene is doing what he is doing and will he reunite with Kim?

Final Verdict – Better Call Saul season 6 episode 11 titled “Breaking Bad” had the cameo we all were waiting for, but ultimately it was the art of storytelling, symbolisms, and parallel storylines which make this episode worth the ride. It wasn’t the best episode of BCS or even this season, but it surely was one of the strongest of the series.
