Better Call Saul Season 6 Review – The Premiere Is Everything We Expected And More!

There is no doubt Breaking Bad is one of the best pieces of cinema ever created. It is still the highest rated show on IMDB and it is something which gets better and better with each passing episodes. Its prequel Better Call Saul is as good as Breaking Bad itself and just like BB, it starts of slow but builds up amazingly leading to whatever’s in store for us in this final season. After a long wait, BCS Season 6 premiere (Episode 1 and 2) is here and here’s what we think about it. (It’s spoiler free, so don’t worry)

Rating – 4/5

Better Call Saul Season 6 premiere had all the elements which makes Breaking Bad Universe what it is. From exceptional cinematography and score, to captivating storyline and performances, BCS premiere had it all. It starts off exactly where season 5 ended and sets the stage quite well for rest of the season. As of the premiere, the Saul Goodman story and the cartel story was largely disconnected but they run parallel to each other. They will surely intersect in the following episodes and that was teased at the end of episode 2 as well.

Season 5 of BCS was without doubt the best season yet which brought everything together and brought us very close to the events of Breaking Bad. We are all waiting for the climax of the series and the fate of Nacho, Kim, and Lalo but we’ll have to wait a bit longer. At this point it’s clear that Lalo Salamanca and the Salamanca cousins are out for revenge and will surely pay visit to Gus, Nacho and Saul in the near future. So yeah, everything’s about to intertwine and that too fatally. On the law side of things, Saul and Kim are all set to go after Howard and close the Sandpiper case once and for all. Jimmy aka Saul and the rest have been working on this case since the beginning of the series and that is exactly where the law side of Better Call Saul will end.

Also, after watching episode 2, we are really worried for many of favorite characters including Kim and Nacho. We’re worried about them since the beginning as they weren’t a part of Breaking Bad even after being so important in Better Call Saul. But now shit’s getting real and being Breaking Bad universe, we need to brace ourselves for some heartbreaking character deaths.

That said, the premiere was absolutely worth the wait and reminded us of Breaking Bad every second. Better Call Saul is shaping up to be one of the best TV shows ever and hopes are really high for the rest of the season. Season 6 Part 1 will consist of 7 episodes in total and the Better Call Saul Season 6 Episode 3 will arrive next week on Monday, 25th April. So stay tuned!
