If you are unaware, Blood of Zeus is an American adult animated fantasy action television series created and written by Charley and Vlas Parlapanides for Netflix. Produced by Powerhouse Animation Studios (the studio behind Castlevania), it is set in mythical ancient Greece and revolves around Heron, the demigod son of Zeus, trying to save Olympus and Earth. The series was a smash hit and opened to largely positive reviews after it debuted on October 27, 2020. Well, if you are a fan, we have some incredible news for you, which will surely get you hyped!
Blood of Zeus Season 2 Trailer and Release Date
After the success of season 1, Netflix renewed the show for a second season in early December 2020. In fact, according to the creators, they have five seasons outlined and every fan would want to see this plan getting materialized. Well, ever since this announcement, we have heard absolutely nothing about the series in nearly 3 years now. However, much to the delight of fans, Netflix’ Geeked Week was full of updates for Blood of Zeus Season 2. Just 2 days ago we got a teaser trailer for season 2 and now, in the second livestream we have been blessed with a 2.5 minute clip from season 2.
In the clip, Heron, who is voiced by Derek Phillips, is seen struggling with a new found realization i.e., Gods are not much better than humans, and can be even more flawed than all of us. We’ll discuss more about the story in the following section. The biggest update came at the very end of the clip which revealed the official release date for season 2! As it happens, Blood of Zeus Season 2 release date is set for May 15, 2024, which means there are still 6 months to go. However, considering how fans were worried if season 2 will even get made, this is a really big news ’cause it’s not just happening but is basically ready to debut in a few months!
Blood of Zeus Season 2 Plot, Cast and More
Season 1 saw the end of the war between the Gods and the Titans as Hera and Hercules turned against Olympus. The season concluded with the death of Seraphim at the hands of Heron and the alleged death of Zeus who decided to blow himself up. However, we are pretty sure Zeus is alive and will return in season 2. Blood of Zeus Season 2 is expected to dwell deeper into the Greek Mythology as well as the head of our protagonist Heron. Heron now seems to be conflicted as he can’t stop thinking about his brother Seraphim and what he said.
It seems like he pretty much agrees that the Gods’ disregard the human race and claim innocent lives on a regular basis. Not just that, he clearly believed that the Gods are even more flawed than humans, so there’s no point listening to them. All this leads to Heron’s first act of rebellion against the Gods, ignoring a call from the fates. So it is clear that this season will explore the concept of morality, rights and wrongs, and Heron’s dilemma on an intricate level. As for the cast and characters, following will return:
