New life-size bronze statues featuring Breaking Bad leading characters Walter White and Jesse Pinkman were unveiled on Friday, with various cast and crew members from the AMC show and its spinoff/prequel series, Better Call Saul, attending the event. Vince Gilligan, the creator of the TV series, gifted the Walt and Jesse statues to The Duke City. Thanks to Sony Pictures Entertainment, pictures from the installation ceremony where the sculptures were unveiled have been shared online. Made by artist Trevor Grove and cast by American Fine Arts Foundry, Gilligan commissioned the sculptures’ creation in 2019.

The Walt and Jesse statues were made public at a convention centre in Albuquerque, New Mexico, which served as the primary setting for both Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad. The writer and director of both shows, Thomas Schnauz, and Peter Gould, a co-creator of Better Call Saul, were also present, in addition to Gilligan. Moreover, Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul, and Dean Norris from Breaking Bad, as well as Rhea Seehorn, Patrick Fabian, and Michael Mando from Better Call Saul, all attended the event.
All five of the Breaking Bad seasons, which aired on AMC from 2008 to 2013, starred Cranston, Paul, and Norris as Walter White, Jesse Pinkman, and Hank Schrader, respectively. The series chronicles chemistry teacher Walter’s journey as a crystal meth kingpin after receiving an incurable lung cancer diagnosis. Later, Paul featured in the 2019 Netflix movie El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, which explored the aftermath of the Breaking Bad TV series from Jesse’s point of view. Additionally, Cranston appears in the movie as Walter in a flashback scene.
Better Call Saul is currently in the middle of its sixth and final season. Cranston and Paul are set to reprise their roles as Walt and Jesse for one last episode of Better Call Saul. They’ll most likely appear in the show’s upcoming episode, titled “Breaking Bad.” Written and directed by Schnauz, the episode is scheduled to air on AMC this coming Monday, August 1, followed by the penultimate episode, “Waterworks”, on August 8.
AMC premieres new episodes of Better Call Saul every Monday.
