Do Revenge Netflix Releases First Look At The Dark Comedy

Do Revenge, a juicy new film on Netflix, features two famous teenage drama queens. The streaming service unveiled the first look for the upcoming movie, with images featuring Riverdale actress Camila Mendes and Stranger Things actress Maya Hawke.

In the ’80s and ’90s-inspired coming-of-age romp, Mendes and Hawke play two teenagers who team up in their quest to exact revenge on those who have mistreated them. Or, in the words of Netflix, “After a clandestine meet-cute, Drea (Alpha, fallen it girl) and Eleanor (beta, new alt girl) team up to go after each other’s tormentors. Do Revenge is a subverted Hitchcock-ian dark comedy featuring the scariest protagonists of all: teenage girls.”

Do Revenge – Maya Hawke And Camila Mendes Make For A Dynamic Pair

Netflix has excited viewers by releasing the first look ahead of the film’s debut. Mendes and Hawke can be seen getting closer to one another while also looking dapper in some of Alana Morshead’s creations in the recently released pictures.

Along with Mendes and Hawke, the film includes Austin Abrams (Dash & Lily, Euphoria) and Outer Banks star Jonathan Daviss. Also featured in the cast are Rish Shah, Talia Ryder, Ava Capri, Maia Reficco, Paris Berelc, Alisha Boe, and Sophie Turner.

Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, who wrote and directed 2019’s Someone Great, is the creator of Do Revenge. In an interview with Elle, Robinson discusses themes, costumes, and her fantastic star-studded ensemble, where she also shares the inspiration behind her second feature film.

Do Revenge is a dark comedy in which two unlikely Miami high-schoolers, the queen bee Drea (Mendes) and transfer student Eleanor (Hawke), join forces to seek revenge. After Drea’s “golden boy” lover Max, played by Abrams, leaks Drea’s sex tape, and a girl begins a cruel rumour about Eleanor, essentially outing her to the entire school, the two now possess a shared desire for vengeance. The girls devise a plan to deal with each other’s offenders when they unintentionally cross paths.

Do Revenge makes its Netflix debut on September 16.
