Stranger Things sensation – Millie Bobby Brown has another Netflix project under her belt that is soon turning into a Franchise – Enola Holmes. The Netflix original film is soon turning itself into a franchise. It seems like Millie Bobby Brown is the saving grace of Netflix as both of her collaborations with the streaming giant has turned out to be successes. Everyone knows about Stranger Things but Enola Holmes too performed very well and Netflix was impressed by its performance. The film too gathered a little fan club that led Netflix to greenlit a sequel. The first film came out in September 2020. Brown’s performance as Sherlock Holmes’ sister was praised. I found her performance to be inspired but the overall story of the film was kind of bland. The themes of the film are excellent.
The misogyny in the era the film is set in, the appreciation Sherlock gets while Enola is always ignored is handled really well. From that perspective the film makes an extremely strong statement. However, if the overall story of the film would’ve been more interesting, the film would’ve worked better. Although, all is well that ends well. Netflix has ordered a sequel and recently the filming for the same concluded. We were getting sparse updates about the sequel but yesterday Netflix unveiled the first poster for the sequel. The poster had a Where’s Waldo style where all the characters were scattered through out the poster along with meaning less details. As the Netflix sequel is moving closer to its release date Netflix is pumping the hype around it. Today we have new stills from the film starring Brown and Cavil and with them the release date of the film.
Enola Holmes 2 Release Date Unveiled and New Images released by Entertainment Weekly!
There were in total 6 stills for Enola Holmes 2 released by Netflix through Entertainment Weekly. Millie Bobby Brown even shared these images on her Instagram account. Netflix revealed the release date of the film along with the images. The sequel unlike the prequel (23rd September 2020) will arrive on Netflix on 4th November 2022. That puts it a week before Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The first still shows Brown’s Enola running away from some cops chasing her, classic Enola. The second still shows Henry Cavil’s Sherlock, Brown’s Enola and Louis Partridge’s Tewkesbury reading a letter of sorts. I think it is some kind of a clue that they’re trying to figure out.
The third still has Sharon Duncan-Brewster’s character who is currently unknown in a royal party setting. The fourth still has Cavil’s Sherlock looking at someone while there is chariot before him. The fifth still shows Brown reunited with her mother and they’re probably hiding in a barrel of sorts. The last still has Enola in a party gown, she is sitting in what looks like a police chariot hand cuffed. It is possible that she illegally got into the Brewster’s character’s party and did some “Enola” thing that had her kicked out of the party and probably got herself arrested. With the release of the poster and these images, I think we’ll the trailer for the sequel very soon.
