Youth sensation and one of the most promising young female actors Millie Bobby Brown has bagged another Netflix project under her belt that is soon turning into a Franchise – Enola Holmes. The Netflix original film is soon turning itself into a franchise. It seems like Millie Bobby Brown is the saving grace of Netflix as both of her collaborations with the streaming giant have turned out to be successes. Everyone knows about Stranger Things but Enola Holmes too performed very well and Netflix was impressed by its performance. The film has gathered a little fan club that led Netflix to greenlit a sequel. The first film came out in September 2020. Brown’s performance as Sherlock Holmes’ sister- Enola was praised. I found her performance to be inspired but the overall story of the film was kind of bland. The themes of the film were excellent though.
The misogyny in the era the film is set in, the appreciation Sherlock gets while Enola is always ignored is handled really well. From that perspective the film makes an extremely strong statement. However, if the overall story would’ve been more interesting, the film would’ve worked better. Although, all is well that ends well. Netflix has ordered a sequel and the filming for the same concluded this year. We were getting sparse updates about the sequel but last month Netflix unveiled the first poster for the sequel. The poster had a Where’s Waldo style where all the characters were scattered through out the poster along with meaning less details. Within the next few days, Netflix released some stills from the film that showed are favorite characters in action. While all this was fun, we hadn’t seen any footage from the film. That’ll change pretty soon. A new update tells us that trailer for the sequel will be released very soon.
Enola Holmes 2: Trailer to be Released this Weekend!
The announcement for the Enola Holmes 2 trailer’s release date didn’t come through some tweet or post. It was a rather mellow update. It came from Millie Bobby Brown’s Instagram. The Stranger Things actress posted two new stories. In the first one we see her as Millie Bobby Brown turning back straight into the camera and smiling (breaking the fourth wall) and then entering a door and closing it. What’s the door for? Based on what’s written on it, it is a door to Enola Holmes Detective Agency.
The footage ends there and then comes the announcement in the second story where it is revealed that the trailer for the sequel would be releasing tomorrow. Now, at the time of writing this story was posted about 2 hours ago that is approximately 1 pm in the US (23rd September). That means the trailer would release on 24th September but the time of release in not specified. The footage does foreshadow that this film might be Enola running her own Detective Agency like her brother.

Enola Holmes stars Millie Bobby Brown in the titular role and along with her Henry Cavil as Sherlock Holmes. Most of the cast from the first film is returning like Louis Partridge as Tewkesbury, Helena Bonham Carter, Adeel Akhtar and Susan Wokoma are back. However, they’re not alone as there are some new faces joining the world. The new additions include Sharon Duncan-Brewster, David Thewlis, Hannah Dodd, Abbie Hern, Gabriel Tierney and Serrana Su-Ling Bliss.
Enola Holmes 2 will arrive on the streaming giant on 4th November 2022.
