The fourth season of Netflix’s animated original series, the often bizarre Love, Death and Robots is coming soon. On the 12th of August 2022, the socials of the show announced that there would be a fourth volume, much to the joy of dedicated fans but ever since then there haven’t been many updates about the show. Netflix’ Love, Death + Robots stands out due to its highly experimentative and though provoking ideas and concepts. That aside, LDR also experiments a lot with animation technology and you’ll see episodes with 2D animation, CGI animation, Motion Capture, animation overlay on live action, Japanese anime-like tech and what not. Each of these episodes stand alone and barely last 15 minutes of runtime but within those 15 minutes, most of them leave a significant impact on the viewers. Here’s what we know about the new season of this incredibly inventive show.
Love Death and Robots Season 4 Release Date
While there is no confirmation regarding the exact date of the fourth season’s launching on the streaming giant, it can be clearly be said that the show comes out in the last quarter of the year. The show overall has been critically received very well, with the third season having the critic score of 100%. The last season featured 9 standalone episodes with different stories, and a sequel to a season one story named Exit Strategies.
According to creator Tim Miller, the people behind the show had always felt like this series will not be limited, and will continue on for more and more vibrant stories.
“Why would we stop doing this as long as they let us continue to do it?” Miller told IGN. “I love animation, and I love animators. They’re just kind of a unique breed. It’s a real honor to be able to, as Jennifer said, bring these people the project that they never thought they would get. It’s really like a Santa Claus sort of moment in the best possible way.”
