If you are fantasy or mythology enthusiast, there is no way you haven’t heard of the show called Lucifer. It once used to be one of the flagship show of Netflix before suffering a slight quality drop in the final season. In fact, Lucifer Season 4 is widely regarded as one of the best TV seasons ever made. So, naturally fans were disappointed to learn that Lucifer Season 6 was intended to be final season of the show. Technically, the last three seasons were also a gift as the show was initially cancelled by Fox after 3 seasons before being picked up by Netflix. Now even though fans have lost all hope for it to return, it looks like Netflix might not be done with Lucifer just yet.
Lucifer Season 7 Might Be Possible, Hints Showrunner
The final season of Lucifer premiered on Netflix on September 10, 2021, and ended the glorious six-season run of the show. Even so, fans expected it to return however, Season 6 showcased a definitive ending for the series, wrapped up almost all storylines that landed a satisfying conclusion. So, the possibility of season 7 became even bleaker but that was until now. As it happens, in an interview with Screen Rant showrunners Joe Henderson and Ildy Modrovich talked about the possibility of doing a revival of the Netflix series. On being asked about potential return for the series, Henderson said:
“I mean, I hope so. We loved making the show, we loved working with these people. I think hopefully at some point, we can find a way to come back, or at least revisit or do something. It was such a great time, it’s such a great experience, and we love these people, so never say never.”
While discussing about more possibilities for the future of Lucifer, Modrovich pointed out that Lucifer should be a musical on Broadway. “My vote is for Lucifer The Musical, personally, on Broadway. If anybody wants to hashtag that, get that going.”, he said. While Henderson said, “I say Lucifer The Animated Series.” While technically this is just the creators talking about could be’s and their personal hopes, it surely hints that there are plans for the franchise.
Also, you may remember that a similar scenario happened with Season 5 as it too was announced as a farewell to the show. While Season 5 was meant to be the final season as well, Lucifer was then renewed for a sixth and final season as well. Technically Season 5 also ended on a conclusive note yet we got another season, so is it possible that we might also get a season 7? Well, we’ll find out soon enough. Although, tt would be anti-climactic if Season 7 happens, we sure hope we see more of Lucifer in future in some form or the other.
