Old Money Review: Rich People, Hot Chemistry, and Bad Decisions

If there’s one show that strutted onto my screen this month and refused to leave my mind, it’s Old Money. Honestly, Netflix served drama, decadence, and dangerously good chemistry—and I, very willingly, ate it up. From the very first episode, the world of wealth, secrets, and family legacy pulled me right in. But what really sealed the deal? The performances. Everyone acted like the camera owed them money—and I loved every second of it.

Let’s start with Engin Akyürek as Osman. That man walks into a frame and suddenly the temperature rises three degrees. And Aslı Enver’s Nihal? Soft yet steel-spined, mysterious yet heartbreakingly human. Together, their chemistry sparked like someone accidentally dropped a match into a room full of fireworks. Every shared glance felt like its own subplot. Every moment of silence between them somehow screamed louder than entire monologues. They didn’t just act—they held court.

And the setting? Oh, honey. The show looks like someone took opulence, old-world charm, and a dash of modern angst, blended them together, and said, “Yes, this is the vibe.” From candlelit hallways to sprawling estates, Old Money drips with atmosphere. You can practically hear the carpets whispering family secrets.

Character evolution was another delicious part of the ride. Almost everyone starts in one emotional zip code and ends in another country entirely. Alliances shift, masks fall, and the story unfolds like a scandal-laced novel you promise to read “just one more chapter” of at 2 a.m.

But let me be dramatic for a moment—because the ending? I hated it. Absolutely not. Throw it out. Rewrite it. Do it again. After building Osman and Nihal’s slow-burn, soul-tangling connection, the writers really looked at us and said, “No happiness for you.” I wanted them together. I deserved them together.

So yes, I’m manifesting. Manifesting another season, a better resolution, and preferably more Osman–Nihal moments that leave me clutching my imaginary pearls. Netflix, do not play with my emotions. I need Season 2. Immediately.

  1. You are not alone dear! There are millions of us saying the same. Fortunately, Netflix was smart enough to protect themselves from
our brutal hatred and have committed themselves to a 2nd Season! Smart move Netflix!
