Scott Pilgrim Netflix's Anime Releases First Look

Scott Pilgrim is a famous series of novels from Canadian author and artist Bryan Lee O’Malley. The book series was quite famous amongst the lovers of the genre but what really got the text in front of the world was Edgar Wright’s 2010 adaptation called Scott Pilgrim vs the World. It starred Michael Cera and Mary Elizabeth Winstead. This is one of the films that showed the world what a visionary director Edgar Wright is. Despite being revered now, the film was a box office dud. However, over the years it has amassed massive cult like following. As years have passed since the original, in this OTT day and age, Netflix decided to adapt this story once again for screen. But with a twist, instead of a film it will be an anime style series. The first look of the same was just released.

Scott Pilgrim Anime Looks Stunning!

I have seen the original film and while I praise it’s visual comedy and fantastic cinematic experience, I’m not a big fan of the film. It is just not my genre, I’m sorry. It was too out of place for me as the film broke into video game action sequences. Although, this might be the same reaction of the western audience when they watch a Hindi film that break into songs randomly. It is normal for us but not for them. I’m really hyped to see what Netflix does with this anime series because the first look is amazing. It looks so similar to Wright’s film and yet so different.

Take a look at all the photos included in the Scott Pilgrim anime’s first look:

Edgar Wright’s next film, The Chain doesn’t have a release date yet but considering everything the film will release sometime in late 2024 or early 2025, depending on how the development goes. Emma Stone is a great dramatic actress who will be a perfect fit for a role like this.

The Scott Pilgrim anime will be available for streaming on Netflix from November 17th 2023.
