Stranger Things 5

Stranger Things remains to be the undisputed king of content on Netflix despite Wednesday’s craze. The fan following of the show is unparalleled. With each new installment of the show, fans fall even more fall in love with it. The most recent installment of the show was its biggest so far, both in length and scale. If I’m being honest then after first season, season four was the biggest leap in storytelling that the show took. Revealing so much more and telling a narrative which has bigger implications than the seasonal conflicts. We finally know the root cause of everything wrong with Hawkins- Vecna / Henry Creel / One.

We know his connection to the Upside Down and how only Eleven can save Hawkins from his wrath. Despite hour heroes’ best efforts season four did end on an underwhelming note where the Upside Down is starting to merge with the real world. This cliffhanger is killing fans and they want the show to come out as soon as possible. However, as we know that it is not going to happen. We have to wait a good deal before the final season comes out, thanks to the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes. However, David Harbour who plays Hopper has given us an update on Stranger Things 5.

Before the SAG-AFTRA strike, actor David Harbour made an appearance on Happy Sad Confused podcast host Josh Horowitz (via ComicBook.com), where he talked about the upcoming final season of Stranger Things:

“Before the strike, we were sent scripts. They’re terrific, as per usual. They continue to outdo themselves, these currently-on-strikes writers, called the Duffer brothers. It’s a hell of an undertaking, too. The set pieces and the things in the scripts that we saw are bigger than anything we’ve done in the past.”

He further added,“You gotta imagine where it starts, after where Season 4 ended, you watch us on that hill looking at the ash and the smoke, fires. And we’re gonna start somewhere after that, so you gotta imagine that the world is a different place. It’s great, it’ll take a while to shoot, which’ll be tough, since we can’t get started yet, but it is what it is.”

Harbour finished off on a positive note, saying, “I’m excited to go back, I’m excited to wrap it up in a bold, amazing way. I’m excited to really swing with this character, because you know that they’re gonna pay off these O.G. characters — Eleven, Hopper, Joyce, Will, Mike — they’re gonna pay them off in big ways because they’ve lived with you for the past eight years.”

All four seasons of Stranger Things are available to watch on Netflix.
