Stranger Things vs Wednesday

Stranger Things Season 4 is the biggest English speaking show on Netflix. The show has constantly been in the top 10 list from May. It looked unshakable from the number one spot until of course The Umbrella Academy Season 3 was released that momentarily dethroned Stranger Things. However, it was only a matter of time before our Heroes of Hawkins regains their spot. As the much awaited final two episodes of Season 4 were released on 1st July, it caused Netflix to crash. The amount of traffic and everyone desperate to know how this season ends. Stranger Things 4 regained its number 1 spot and has been on the top since. However, that changes today as Stranger Things has finally been overtaken by another internet sensation- Wednesday.

Stranger Things Is No Longer Netflix’s No. 1 Show!

Variety shared a new report that revealed the top 10 most watched shows on Netflix in the last 91 days. The report acted as an evidence of Stranger Things losing its #1 crown to a new King in the market- Wednesday. What is surprising is Stranger Things wasn’t even near the figures of Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday. The horror comedy show amassed a total of 252.1 million views while Stranger Things 4 came in at second place with a distant 140.7 million views. This is based on a new way Netflix is reporting its top 10 rankings, now providing an estimated viewership for the weekly charts for its top shows and movies.

This will take traditional hours viewed and divide that number by the show or film’s total runtime, while Netflix extends the measurement window from 28 days to 91 days. It is important to note that Stranger Things is the only show in the list which has its two seasons in the list apart from Bridgerton.
