Shah Rukh Khan’s son, Aryan Khan, has made his official debut as a director rather than an actor. On September 18, 2025, the debut series will be available on Netflix. The main question that has been circulating is – Is this just another case of Bollywood privilege, or does it actually look good?

The show’s protagonist, Aasman Singh (played by Lakshya), is introduced to us in the trailer at a little over three minutes. He is a fearless, inquisitive rookie attempting to make his way in the glamorous but cruel world of Bollywood. Using snappy phrases such as “I am an actor, sir. Creating a scene is my job.” Aasman immediately establishes himself.
Within hours of its release, the trailer, which was posted on Netflix India’s official channel, sparked contentious debates on X (formerly Twitter), Instagram reels, and fan forums.
Plot At A Glimpse
The show follows Aasman as he makes his way through a world of shady managers, casting politics, and the glittering prospect of fame. His only supporters are his direct manager, Sanya (Anya Singh), and his childhood friend, Parvaiz (Raghav Juyal).
Veteran actor Ajay Talvar, portrayed by Bobby Deol, is adamant about getting his daughter Karishma (Sahher Bambba) into the business. Is The Show Seemingly Great?
The trailer isn’t afraid to point out Bollywood’s shortcomings. It uses humour and style to highlight bullying, nepotism, and the cost of ambition. Aryan seems to make fun of privilege rather than sugarcoating it, which gives the tone a self-awareness. There’s just enough grit underneath to prevent things from being overly glossy, while the dialogues and images sparkle.
So far, we are possibly close to a good shot at Bollywood’s new stars. Never had we thought Aryan Khan would debut as a filmmaker who would mock the same system he comes from.

Aryan Khan doesn’t step into acting shoes; instead, he directs with confidence, leaning into satire rather than avoiding critique. In short: it may have nepo DNA, but it doesn’t look like nepo junk. This one just might be worth the hype.
