Would you believe me if I told you that nepo kids aren’t all that bad? Especially, the new Bollywood star kids, specifically this guy named Aryan Khan. Yeah, just some unsmiling son of THE Shah Rukh Khan, with actual talent, brand marketing prodigy, and a good director overall. I watched The Ba***ds of Bollywood, just for the sake of giving the new creative direction in B-Town a fair chance. And let me tell you. I watched the show in one sitting. Did this show change my life and absolutely rearrange my thought process? No. Hell no. But, did I laugh and gasp at every mock, every cameo, every comedic throw from Raghav Juyal? A 1oo% yes. So, spoilers ahead.
A Whole Train Of Bollywood Cameos

I think, and most of us who watched the show, that Aryan practically called up all the A-listers saved on his dad’s phone. And, I am not half-mad, because the mockery is real. From breaking Amir Khan and Rajamouli’s perceived intellect into a mere debate of “Idli or Vada Pav”, to Karan Johar’s open portrayal of being a Bollywood bully- it is all such a scandalous comedy. But my favorite part had to be Emraaan Hashmi’s apparent “intimacy exercise” and the scenes that came along with the montage. The comedic timings, the slanders, the exaggerated dialogues. Everything was just proof that Emraan Hashmi is probably the best guy in Bollywood. Like, even a mock-Bollywood show couldn’t make him look bad.
Obvious Movie References

Yes, the Film First award show scene. You really thought Asmaan wouldn’t pull the “Kisi Cheez Ko Agar Dil Se Chaho” dialogue while receiving the best actor award? Oh, he did. In front of Shah Rukh Khan. The references don’t end there. Honestly, the entire Award Show sequence was a newer version of Om Shanti Om’s infamous award show sequence. Also, during Asmaan’s father’s last rites? Yeah, the K3G scene, but make it 1o times more emotional.
Aryan Didn’t Hold Back

I honestly expected no shade. Like, when have you ever seen the newer nepo kids being bold enough to mock the system? The after-party scene was almost like a slap on the face. The entire notion of targeting anyone from Bollywood for simply breathing- yes, the drug use, controversies- was so openly put out. Perhaps Aryan didn’t hold back his mockery, especially after the whole Cruise Ship fiasco. But what a comeback.
Raghav Juyal: The Highlight

Aryan Khan this, Aryan Khan that, Lakshya this, Bobby Deol that. Guys, can we just please talk about Raghav Juyal and the comedy king he is turning out to be? The classic Bollywood brainrot is back, all thanks to Raghav. The native Mumbaiker accent, the random burst of songs, the endless jokes- this guy’s comedic timing is just perfect. And, I know for a fact that you loved his sequence with Emraan Hashmi. I laughed, laughed hard at his terrible “Kaho Na Kaho” singing, and that was the point.
Conclusion: Thoughts?
Listen. I don’t think The Ba***ds of Bollywood is life-changing. And, maybe the point of the show is to learn nothing. The point of this show is to bring serious elements wrapped with comedy back into Bollywood. You will laugh, crack a gasp, even grab your head at the end BUT, you won’t be disappointed.
