The Crown is a Netflix series that debuted on the streaming giant in 2016. The show’s story focuses on the British Royal Family. The official synopsis of the show reads, “This show focuses on Queen Elizabeth II as a young newlywed faced with leading the world’s most famous monarchy, while forging a relationship with legendary Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill. The British Empire is in decline, the political world is in disarray, but a new era is dawning.” Since its debut, The Crown quickly become one of the best shows on Netflix and has maintained that status ever since. Every season that the series adds, simply adds to its quality. The show was created by Peter Morgan and has been the recipient 10 Primetime Emmy Awards and 7 Golden Globes Awards over the course of 4 seasons.
Season 4 ended on a surprising note and ever since then fans were waiting for The Crown Season 5 for almost 2 years. Well, their wait ends here. Season 5 of The Crown will release this year on the streaming giant on 9th November. However, that’s not the latest news regarding the show. At their global fan event TUDUM’22, Netflix the much awaited promo for Season 5 and it is everything you’d expect and more.
The Crown Season 5: An All Out War?
The promo released by Netflix doesn’t waste any time and tells you directly what you’re going to see this season, however, it is one of the better Netflix promos as it doesn’t spoil anything much as well. The promo starts by establishing that The Crown is very unhappy over the separation of Prince Charles and Princess Diana. The couple were married together for fourteen years and had two kids together but eventually got divorced. Why you ask? Well, check out Season 4.
The Promo ends by establishing that it is an all out war. Season 5 will tackle the messy divorce of Charles and Diana. It is difficult to digest this as the couple did have the most lavish royal wedding of the century in 1981. The promo is extremely intriguing and I’m excited for Season 5. November is a busy month for Netflix. The show has an IMDb score of 8.7/10 and 90% on Rotten Tomatoes.
