The Last Kingdom Movie – Seven Kings Must Die Release Date?
Seven Kings Must Die will be released sometime in 2023. No official date or month frame has been revealed yet, since the filming is all but over already, we can expect an early 2023 release for The Last Kingdom movie.
The Last Kingdom Movie – Seven Kings Must Die Runtime / Duration?
While it was earlier speculated that the film would span a total of 3 hours, it was later confirmed by Netflix that will run approximately for 120 minutes or 2 hours.
What Will 7 Kings Must Die Be About?
It has been revealed that the film would be a standalone one which will act as an epilogue rather than a continuation. The Last Kingdom season 5 effectively ends the story of Uhtred of Bebbanburg as his arc concludes quite satisfyingly. 7 Kings Must Die would follow the story of the next generation that includes Athelstan and Uhtred’s children as they’ll once again battle it out. After all, Alfred’s dream of a united England wasn’t achieved at the end of The Last Kingdom season 5 as Uhtred decided to make his kingdom independent. So, at the moment neither Edward nor the King of Scotland have any right to Bebbanburg. This will of course change in Seven Kings Must Die as we know England was formed under the rule of Athelstan who will succeed Edward.

I love “The Last Kingdom” and was heartbroken to hear season 5 was it for the show. The cast is so amazing!!! The men are sexy (Uhtred and friends) and the women are awesome. I love to see women in power and TLK so delivered. I can’t wait to watch the movie. Glad the story has not ended yet and write another book because I watched the series 3 times already.

I have watched the series more times than I can count because I just love it…..I know some stuff is embellished but nevertheless it’s one of my fav series in regard to the Viking era along with Vikings….I have not read the novels yet but I plan on it because as always the novels are way more detailed but I wish The Last Kindom would just go on forever and ever….not to mention uhtred is the bomb not just his looks but his whole personality…..one of the realist characters ever created…..he gives meaning to the phrase keep it 100 and he is a hell of a warrior who sacrificed everything for other people to succeed without jeopardizing his integrity….I can go on for days about that man but I’m not gonna fill your comment with all that lol….Can’t wait for the movie though cuz I’m ready to see how the next generation prevails now that my dude is getting older and ruling his homeland….I’m sure life is definitely treating him well because he damn sure earned it many times over

I, also, have watched the Last Kingdom again and again, and it seemed to get better with each time. However, I won’t be watching the movie~I assume Uhtred will die, and though I like the history of the show, he is the hero, and I just want to keep him there. Being one of the elderly, there are, in my opinion, not alot of “heros” of Uhted’s caliber, and since I use television as my recreation, I take these actors very seriously. I would cry for days if I had to watch him die~lol. Even though he is just an actor doing his job. What a wonderful, talented cast they are. Superb!!
I can’t get enough of the last kingdom and I speak for my entire household. It is rare that a family of nine ranging in ages of 66 to 14 love it!!! I seen the entire season from beginning to the total end when Uhtred finally gets his place of birth back in his possession. I thought it was going to burn to the ground and it broke my heart, but then the rain came….it took my breath away and when Uhtred cried so didn’t we all. I have never loved a series as much as this one. Outstanding scenes, and the stars played their roles so beautifully you almost forgot it was not real.

I was extremely disheartened to learn that Uhtred will die in the first 5 minutes of the upcoming movie, 7 Kings Must Die. Kinda soured my desire to see the film. Now Sihtric better have a starring role throughout, or else I may have to skip the film and let the finale of season 5 be it for me!
Absolutely love this show! I think I have seen it start to finish three times. Beautifully written and excellent acting make this a block buster television series! I am looking forward to the movie. This show and its actors should have been nominated and won many awards.I hope Alexander Dreymon continues in strong character roles.

If you want more information about 7 Kings Must Die, you can always read the book. While you’re at it, read all 13. The plot lines in the Netflix series don’t always align with the books, due to time constraints the series is under, but the flavor is the same as are most of the characters. Among the very special things about this series is the fact that author Bernard Cornwell researches the relevant history, pulls out the known facts, and then weaves them together with the characters he brings to life.

I loved all of Last Kingdom & like everyone else sooo sad we will not see Uhtrid but in only a small part! He is so magnetic I can watch him over & over & sadly nothing to look forward to after the 7 Kings Must Die. I truly wish u could have continued the story longer for all the many fans of the whole cast that were so loved!
Bernard Cornwell is the most amazing author whichever period he’s writing about. Read all The Last Kingdom books, all the Sharpe books, all the War Lord Chronicles and all the auxillary historical books too. Great TV adaption – all the characters pretty much how the reader imagines them. Sad when a great series ends but good to go out on a high note.

My house mate and I have watched Last Kingdom 29 times .We are totally addicted to it. Best show ever. We can’t go very many days without seeing the cast.We have spent so much time with them we miss them when we don’t see them.
I feel the same way. Lost track as to how many times I’ve watched the series. A few days will go by and I’ll to start watching it again. Looking forward to the movie but am sad that Uthred will only have a few scenes.
Am I the only one who thinks Brida was a hypocrite….I understand she was raised as a Dane because of how things played out but how could she truly deny her Saxon roots the way she did puzzled me….also the way she easily turned on uhtred was flabbergasting to me….it was like she only treated him good when she needed something from him but once she got what she needed it was the hell with uhtred…..I really came to dislike Brida especially after she castrated uhtred’s son…..she had no honor….I honestly believe if uhtred knew she was pregnant he would have never let the scots take her….of course he could never kill Brida she meant something to him no matter what she did he had a deep love for her…

Noooooooo!! My heart won’t be able to take Uhtred dying. There’s not enough therapy, or tissues in the world to recover from it and I won’t be able to see or hear the rest of the movie through the gallons of tears and sobbing pouring from my body for the foreseeable future. To whose attention on the production crew do I direct my therapy bills to again in the aftermath of Uhred’s death? 😭
