The Witcher Season 3 Resumes the Final Stage of Filming

The Witcher Season 3 has been in production for some time but recently encountered difficulties with COVID requiring a temporary filming halt. There were rumors that Henry Cavill, who plays Geralt of Rivia in the Netflix series The Witcher, had tested positive for COVID, which would limit work. Although the filming had been suspended, Netflix never explicitly stated who got affected by COVID. However, the most recent reports indicate that production has presumably restarted, including the shooting of Cavill’s sequences.

The Witcher Season 3: Henry Cavill Is Back To Film His Sequences

Redanian Intelligence, a source focused on The Witcher with a reasonably good track record for these discoveries, recently broke the news that general filming for The Witcher had resumed. However, as of this week, the website is now stating that Cavill is back on set to finish filming. The restarted filming was allegedly focused on scenes that didn’t involve Cavill.

Redanian Intelligence recently reported that the completion date for Season 3 filming had been postponed due to the production halt and Cavill’s alleged quarantine while filming. For those eagerly anticipating the new season, this shouldn’t cause too much concern, given there was never a set release date, and the delay was only a few weeks. According to recent reports, filming will end in the first half of September, which is now quite close.

While The Witcher fans will undoubtedly expect to see many memorable scenes and characters from the novels in Season 3, the Netflix official preview of the new season provides a general outline of what to anticipate.

The official description for The Witcher Season 3 reads, “As monarchs, mages, and beasts of the Continent compete to capture her, Geralt takes Ciri of Cintra into hiding, determined to protect his newly-reunited family against those who threaten to destroy it. Entrusted with Ciri’s magical training, Yennefer leads them to the protected fortress of Aretuza, where she hopes to discover more about the girl’s untapped powers; instead, they discover they’ve landed in a battlefield of political corruption, dark magic, and treachery. They must fight back, put everything on the line – or risk losing each other forever.”
