The Enfield Poltergeist: Trailer and What to Expect
The Enfield Protagonist is a documentary/dramatized reconstruction of the real-life paranormal case that gained global attention in the late 1970s. As the title suggests, the case began in Enfield, London in 1977. It centers on the Hodgson family: single parent Peggy, and her children Janet, Margaret, and Billy. Peggy made her first report to the police after witnessing furniture moving and when her two daughters claimed they’d heard knocking coming from the walls of their bedroom at night. For the next two years, several people, professionals, and members of the community would bear witness to this unexplainable activity.
Now, The Enfield Poltergeist promises to showcase the horrifying excerpts from over 250 hours of audio evidence. Every piece of audio is straight from the archives of the actual case. People who were directly involved in this case will come forward to share their viewpoints.
Though this show is a documentary, viewers can expect some of the most frightening scenes from the actual case reenacted by actors. Olivia Booth-Ford stars as possessed Janet, Daniel Lee as younger brother Billy, and Paula Benson as their mother Peggy. Christos Lawton plays the role of Guy Lyon Playfair, a member of the Society of Psychical Research, and Grace Evans plays Sue Blackmore.
The Enfield Protagonist will be released globally on October 27, 2023, on Apple TV+. The show consists of four episodes in total, all of which will come out on the mentioned date. It’s the perfect film to binge over the Halloween weekend.
