Last year, FX debuted The Old Man as a new thriller starring Jeff Bridges as a former CIA operative and Vietnam veteran who was compelled to hide after killing an intruder who broke into his home. With Dan and Harold now reunited following the Season 1 finale, they will likely try to rescue Angela after she was abducted by Faraz Hamzad, her real father. As she is yet to discover her father’s identity, Season 2 co-creator Jonathan E. Steinberg explained to Deadline, “As a general rule, we never want a character to be too far behind the audience. So that’s coming pretty quickly for her.” Steinberg also teased, “The whole thing is a bit of a journey into Dan Chase’s head. Some of the season two plan is for these guys to go back to this place that they spent so much time in when they were younger, and to see the past through their present eyes.”
When Will The Old Man Season 2 Release?
Before the writers’ strike began The Old Man completed filming the first four episodes of Season 2. We don’t know how many episodes are planned for the second season, it would likely follow Season 1 and consist of seven episodes. Season 1 premiered in June 2022 and another summer premiere for Season 2 in 2024 is certainly plausible because the post-production work of the first four episodes was completed during the strikes. Fans can expect to see The Old Man Season 2 release in the latter half of 2024.
The Old Man Season 2 has yet to confirm an official release date.
