Along with She-Hulk and Ms. Marvel it looks like we have another female lead superhero show coming from Marvel. Disney+ has become Marvel’s home for introducing new characters and giving them their origin story. This year it treated us with Moon Knight and Ms. Marvel TV series. The Marvel comic character Ironheart aka Riri Williams who was introduced in 2016 by writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Mike Deodato, with Eve Ewing and Kevin Libranda later redesigning the character. The character is all set to make his MCU debut in the upcoming Phase 4 film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. We got to see her first look in the Wakanda Forever trailer.
The trailer at least makes us believe that she is extremely pivotal to the film. After her debut in the Black Panther sequel, the character will be introduced to the audience via a Disney+ series; the series recently started filming as well as added a few members to its already impressive cast. As the filming has begun we have gotten the first look of the possible villain of this series Anthony Ramos as The Hood. We even got a clear look at Dominique Thorne’s Ironheart suit. However, as the filming is going on, a new leak suggests that she the show will have a connection to Doctor Strange.
Ironheart Series to Introduce Zelma Stanton?
According to the Twitter handle, @DrStrangeUpdate Zelma Stanton is all set to appear in the Ironheart series as the handle posted a BTS image from the filming of the show that showcased a bookstore named “Stanton’s Sweets, Reads & More.” Murphy’s Multiverse reports that Regan Aliyah is expected to debut in Ironheart as the comic book character, Zelma Stanton. Zelma was helped by Doctor Strange after whoch chooses to dedicate her life to magic and becomes and the Sanctum Santorum’s librarian.
It seems like Zelma Stanton will run her own book store in the MCU, from this new set photo for #Ironheart!

While Ironheart is supposed to be a tech heavy show where we we’ll get to Tony Stark’s legacy being continued, it looks like the show ill have equal amount of magic as well. Not only from Zelma but also from the series villain Anthony Ramos who plays The Hood, his source of magic coming from Mephisto who is all set to appear in the show as well and will be played by Sacha Baron Cohen.
Dominique Thorne plays the lead role of Riri Williams aka Ironheart. Good Girls star Manny Montana will feature as a series regular, probably in a negative role. Along with him, In the Heights star Anthony Ramos as The Hood, This Is Us alum Lyric Ross and Shea Couleé. The series will be helmed by multiple directors including Sam Bailey (Dear White People) and Angela Barnes (Gillian in Georgia), they’ll collaborate with head writer Chinaka Hodge (Snowpiercer). Hodge even acted as Executive Producer to Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther.
Ironheart will start streaming on Disney+ in Late 2023.
