We all knew there was going to be some of the Mandalorian in The Book of Boba Fett, but not so much! The final 3 episodes almost seemed like the first few of The Mandalorian season 3. No wonder fans started calling the show The Book of The Mandalorian. While it may not have been that great for Boba Fett fans, Star Wars fans as a whole and Mandalorian fans absolutely loved TBOBF. Anyways, in this article we’ll let you know all about the Mandalorian Season 3 and try to answer every question you might have in your mind regarding it.
Will there be a Mandalorian season 3?
In one word, yes! The pre-production for the third season of The Mandalorian began as soon as April 2020, and it was officially confirmed to return in December 2020. Filming for the third season began by October 2021 and was reportedly wrapped in late March 2022. During filming many fan-favorite characters were leaked to be on set.
Is The Mandalorian coming back in 2022?
Once again, the answer is yes. Mandalorian Season 3 will in fact return in 2022.
What is the release date for Mandalorian season 3?
Now this is something which fans have been eagerly waiting for. While it was earlier reported that Mandalorian Season 3 will release in December 2022, here’s something weird. In an interview on The Rich Eisen Show, Giancarlo Esposito, who plays Moff Gideon on The Mandalorian said that the show could release as early as this summer. Honestly, it seems very difficult and there are chances he might just be throwing the audiences off. Here’s the reason for it. Disney Plus seems to have quite a packed A lister schedule with Moon Knight airing right now, Obi-Wan Kenobi coming next month, and Ms. Marvel coming the month after. That effectively ends the summer, so there’s simply no space for the Mandalorian Season 3.
Also, do not forget that The Mandalorian is Star War’s biggest venture as of now and they surely won’t squeeze it in the middle of all this. Also, since the filming wrapped just weeks ago, it would and should take considerable amount of post production for a show lie Mandalorian. So, assuming that Marvel’s She-Hulk comes out sometime in the beginning of autumn, it’s safe to assume that we won’t be seeing Mandalorian season 3 before November or December 2022. But hey, never say never.
Will there be Grogu season 3?
Again, in one word yes! The Book of Bobba Fett reunited Grogu aka Baby Yoda and Din Djarin aka The Mandalorian in the finale. At the end we saw them leaving together to continue their father son like adventures. In season 3, we might also see Grogu in a proper beskar armor. But unlike previous seasons, Grogu will not be the focus of the series as this time it will be more about Mandalore. The focus of the narrative would be Din leading his fellow Mandalorians and rebuilding Mandalore. Since he is the true wielder of the darksaber, he is the one who will lead his people to glory and peace.
A big part of Season 3 would be Djarin’s redemption and being accepted as a Mandalorian again. But as he stated the mines where he could do so, have been destroyed. So, it would be interesting to see how he reclaims his membership. He might seek help from Bo-Katan and her warriors we were introduced to in season 2. Also, his allies Boba Fett, The Marshal, Fennec Shand, and Ahsoka Tano will surely have some cool roles to play.
