The Flash (reviews here) is the only DC film releasing this year. Oops! Forgot Shazam: Fury of the Gods. Well, I guess everyone did as no one went in theatres to watch it. Well, after beginning on that crude note, let’s get back to the subject at hand. The Flash movie. It looks like a solid film from DC after a long time. The first trailer for the film released at Super Bowl and man what a trailer it was. Almost every cinephile (of course, I’m not talking about the purists) agreed that the trailer looks spectacular and despite the controversy around it The Flash might turn out to be one of the finest superhero films of the year. As CinemaCon was happening this week, Warner Bros. didn’t want to waste this opportunity to get some free media. The studio has released their second trailer for the upcoming The Flash movie which comes out this June.

The New Flash Trailer Is Jaw-Dropping!

Let me just get this out of the way, the new trailer just like the first one is spectacular. The Flash has weirdly become one of my most anticipated films of the year. The trailer begins with Michael Keaton’s Batman who surprisingly features a lot in the trailer. There is a voiceover from him which works wonders as he talks about how he lost his parents and thought solving crime would bring them back. It is good to see that Barry has actually done that. For some reason, this line just hit me. It felt very real and personal.

As you can see the trailer began on a fantastic note at least for me. After which we see a lot of new footage from the film. Mid way through the trailer we see Ben Affleck’s Batman as well. He once again delivers one of the finest lines of the film- Don’t let your tragedy define you! This line works on multiple levels as along with Barry and Bruce even Supergirl has her tragedy which is also related to parents. These characters are dealing with so much and yet on a basic level they’re so similar. Which is why they come across each other and help each other.

After watching the trailer, I can say with proof that Michael Keaton has still got it. Barry’s suit looks the best. In my opinion, it is the best looking live action suit. That being said, there is a lot of VFX in the film and all of it isn’t done very well. There are points where I can see the visuals look absolutely fake. I hope DC fixes this in the theatrical version as they still have one month for it. I urge you all to check out the new Flash trailer as it deserves your attention. This is the most exciting thing we have gotten in CinemaCon yet.
