Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 - How Many Post Credit Scene Are There In GOTG 3

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is the final film in James Gunn’s GOTG trilogy and the emotions cannot be higher. Marvel has been constantly warning us about big deaths coming in the concluding chapter of the Guardians saga. Be it the marketing, the trailers, posters, everything hints at two or three major characters dying. The highest possibility of course being of Rocket Raccoon. James Gunn has often teased that he is one of the saddest characters in the MCU despite his wily charms. The plot revealed in the trailers also hint at a Rocket centric story. The introduction of the High Evolutionary is a big hint at that. As this is the final film of the Guardians, does it have something for us at the end? A post credit scene perhaps? As it turns out- Yes. In fact not one but two.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Post Credit Scene Count Revealed!

The news comes from no one but from the writer-director himself. James Gunn was recently asked about whether there is at all a post credit scene in the film. The fan asked Gunn this question on Instagram. Gunn replied with, “There is not a post credit scene. There are two.” It is worth noting that the fellow Phase 5 film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania also had two post credit scenes which broke the trend of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever that had only one post credit scene.

The original Guardians of the Galaxy film also had only two post credit scenes. However, its sequel, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 had a record breaking number of post credit scenes- 5. One of which featured the creation of Adam Warlock. That tease is finally being paid off in this film. Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special only had one post credit scene which released exclusively on Disney+.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 will release this year on 5th May 2023 in theatres near you.
