If you don’t already know, Ms. Marvel is all set to return in The Marvels (Captain Marvel 2) alongside Carol Denvers, and Monica Rambeau. The Marvels is all set to release in fall 2023 and will showcase the further adventures of the Captain Marvel family. Ms. Marvel finale had just one post credit scene where Captain Marvel (Carol Denvers) suddenly appeared in Kamala’s room! This can be explained by her switching places with Kamala Khan due to some connection the bangle formed between them. This directly tied Ms. Marvel to The Marvels and the film will also be tied to Secret Invasion as Nick Fury will be a part of the film. As it happens, a new trailer has revealed one more returning MCU character!

The words “I called a Friend” and the visual of Bifrost launched a number of discussions among the fans. It is pretty evident that someone belonging to the Norse side of Marvel will be making an appearance. The most obvious guess would be Thor as he can summon the Bifrost using stormbreaker, however, we are pretty sure it is not going to be Thor. in fact, it is almost a guarantee that it is going to be Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie! The trailer itself hints that by showcasing Carol Denvers standing alongside Valkyrie and Wanda in Endgame.
A Valkyrie cameo makes a lot of sense considering how long fans have been waiting for Carol Denvers and Valkyrie romance plot. Although unlike comics, Carol Danvers is not confirmed to be queer in the MCU as Valkyrie has, but fans are quite hopeful it would be confirmed really soon. In fact, Tessa Thompson herself has shown quite a lot of interest in the matter.
“I, you know, the heart wants what it wants. I don’t… I can’t speak yet to Valkyrie. She hasn’t had a ton of time to focus too squarely on her love life since she’s been besought with a lot of kingly duties. But there are a lot of amazing men, women, other-wordly creatures inside of the MCU and certainly in the canon of characters that could enter the MCU. So, I think there’s so many fish in the sea. She’s single. She’s ready to mingle. And I love, both in the comics, Carol and I… Brie Larson is a good friend of mine and I love spending time with her. So, I wouldn’t be mad at it, for sure.”
So, it safe to say that The Marvels will lay the foundation to their relationship. No matter what it evolves into, we will surely see Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie once again in MCU. Finally something exciting regarding this particular project! The Marvels is set to release in theaters on November 10, 2023.
