Blade is one of Marvel’s most famous characters. The blood thirsty vampire rose to fame as a cult classic hero. Wesley Snipes embodied the character in a series of R-rated movies that skyrocketed the popularity of Blade. Ever since then, fans are waiting for more Blade movies but sadly we have had none. Last year Marvel did announce that we will get a Blade reboot starring the two times Academy award winner Mahershala Ali in Phase 5. However, ever since that announce all we know about the ambitious venture is that it is stuck in pre-production. Reportedly, Ali is also frustrated with Marvel’s insufficient planning. While there is no update on this front, Marvel in association with Bethesda has announced a new video game for Blade.
Marvel’s Blade Video Game Releases A Cool First Look!
At The Game Awards last night, Bethesda surprised everyone and announced that they’re developing a new Marvel’s Blade video game in partnership with Arkane Studios. The studio is the developer behind Dishonored and Deathloop. The brand new Blade game is going to be “a mature, single-player, third-person game set in the heart of Paris.” Development just started on Blade, so it could be a while until we see it again. Marvel released a brand new first look for the game in the event as well.
It is an announcement animated video which sets the vibe of the game along with revealing Blade’s character design and vibe. No gameplay was revealed in the footage. Blade looks extremely suave and the visuals chic and modern. I just hope that we don’t get the game before the Marvel’s live-action film. Although, it looks like a possibility. As for which consoles it will target, this has been a subject of debate among fans since the trailer arrived.
Considering how Bethesda is now under Microsoft, fans are convinced that the game would be an XBox and PC exclusive. However, considering how Marvel has a huge fan base on PlayStation, this could turn out to be different. As fans noticed, there is no Xbox logo on the trailer, no post on the Xbox YouTube channel, and a third party studio is heavily involved. But considering how Microsoft has been making all Bethesda games exclusive lately, nothing can be said for sure. So, we’d ask PS gamers to neither get their hopes up, nor mourn yet and patiently wait for more information.
