2023 has not been a good year for movies, I believe. It has definitely not been the year for superhero movies. DC was never in the contention but now even the MCU is struggling. The studio has had a tumultuous 2023 that started with the nightmarish Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. However, the summer began on a great note with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, but that was short lived as the studio once again disappointed the fans with Secret Invasion. The hopes were up again with Loki Season Two being a massive hit but The Marvels paralyzed the fans’ emotions to say that we’ve seen enough. However, it looks like the studio doesn’t intend to end the year on a low. What If…? was a successful show for Marvel in 2021, and after a long wait its sequel season is out. The new episodes are extracting positive reactions from fans. The most recent episode, What If Season 2 Episode 6 ended on a rather questionable note. Let’s find out what the ending means.
What If Season 2 Episode 6 Introduces A New Superhero!
What If Season 2 Episode 6 is titled, What If… Kahhori Reshaped The World? Evidently, the new episode introduces a brand new super-hero in the MCU called Kahhori, a Native American Mohawk warrior who received her powers from the Tesseract. This is set in a reality where Ragnarok destroyed Asgard but the Tesseract crash landed on Earth. The remains of the Tesseract turned a lake into a gateway into another world. Several members of the tribe gained access to the new world by entering the lake.
The members acquired the powers of immortality of the Tesseract and it wasn’t until Kahhori with her strong conviction brought all of them back to their original world and restored the balance. She is a powerful addition to the MCU but it looks like her adventures have just began. Once a peace treaty was signed between the Spanish and the New World, Kahhori gets an unexpected visit from – Strange Supreme. The member of Guardians of the Multiverse who were assembled by the Watcher at the end of What If…? Season One.
While he’s seemingly looking to recruit Kahhori’s help in a future episode, it’s unclear what Strange needs her for. Likewise, his motives are unknown as well. The character is a much darked version Stephen Strange seen in the MCU, so, his intentions are always questionable. Be that as it may, but this proves that something significant is going to happen in future episodes where Strange will require Kahhori’s super-speed, telekinesis, shields, increased strength, and durability powers.
This makes sense given the ending of What If…? Season Two Episode 5 where we see Captain Carter being pulled to another reality which notably caught even the Watcher off-guard. With the current season finale entitled “What If…Strange Supreme Intervened?”, it’s clear that the set-up here has already begun with Strange recruiting Kahhori.
