Armor Wars To Begin Production Real Soon!

It looks like Armor Wars may launch its first attack sooner than expected. Don Cheadle, a Marvel Cinematic Universe veteran, will play James Rhodes/War Machine in the live-action television series, which is reportedly scheduled to begin filming much sooner than many had anticipated.

Amidst a Marvel slate that is busier than ever, one Marvel Studios executive’s bio indicates that the series led by Cheadle will begin production “this fall.” Marvel producer Jenna Berger appeared at a recent conference about filmmaking at the University of Pennsylvania. Her bio for the event is what ultimately made the filming timeline reveal read “She most recently produced the upcoming Disney+ series Ms. Marvel and is now in development on a new series starring Don Cheadle, which will film in Atlanta this fall.”

Armor Wars: All We Know So Far About The Upcoming MCU Series

Fans of the Iron Man movies, who are still upset by Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark’s sacrifice in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame, are looking forward to Armor Wars. The show will adapt one of the most well-known storylines from the pages of Marvel’s Iron Man comic, which is also titled “Armor Wars.”

The plot was developed into a seven-issue arc between December 1987 and June 1988 by writers David Michelinie and Bob Layton with illustrations by Mark D. Bright and Barry Windsor-Smith. In the comic, Justin Hammer, a rival businessman, buys stolen key designs for Tony Stark’s armor and spreads the technology to a wide variety of famous Marvel villains, resulting in a chaotic situation.

There will undoubtedly be considerable alterations in the MCU adaptation of Armor Wars, assuming Cheadle’s James Rhodes is the protagonist. Yassir Lester (Black Monday, Earth to Ned), the head writer, will be responsible for the creative direction for those adjustments. Although the plot is unknown, it may tie into a related Marvel series called Ironheart, which will feature Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, a talented teenager who continues Tony Stark’s legacy in her own suit.

Armor Wars does not yet have a release date on Disney+.
