Arcane Season 2

Netflix’s Arcane will release its Season 2, taking the fans back into the world of Riot Games’ League of Legends. The first batch of episodes was a huge success, telling a gripping tale of two sisters. Season 1 currently sitting at 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, causing Netflix to greenlight another season.

Cast and Release Date

The confirmed actors to appear in Arcane Season 2 are Ella Purnell as Jinx, Hailee Steinfeld as Vi, and Katie Leung as Caitlyn Kiramman. Other familiar faces expected to appear in the series are Kevin Alejandro (Jayce Talis), Toks Olagundoye (Mel Medarda), Harry Lloyd (Viktor), Reed Shannon (Ekko), Mick Wingert (Cecil B. Heimerdinger), and Amirah Vann (Sevika). Some League champions that could appear in Season 2 include Warwick, Camille, Blitzcrank, and Swain among others.

No official release has been announced yet, however, it is expected to be released sometime before the end of 2024. Riot Games CEO Nicolo Laurent previously remarked, “So, I just watched the third episode of Season 2 before my flight to China. We’re making progress on it. It is not ready yet, and there are two reasons for that. One, you want the quality. We just do not want to rush, and that takes time. So that’s a good reason.”

Possible Plot Lines of Arcane Season 2

Season 2 of Arcane is unknown, however, there are a few directions the series could go in following the Season 1 finale. Following Jinx’s bombing of the Piltover chambers, it will be interesting to see which council members survived the attack. Jayce will possibly make it out unharmed as he is a significant character in the game. Meanwhile, Piltover councilors Mel and Cassandra may not fare as well, with their injuries. It will likely serve as motivation for Jayce (close friend of Mel) and Katie Leung’s Caitlyn (daughter of Cassandra) in Season 2. As for other council members (Viktor, Hoskel, Shoola, Salo, and Bolbok), it is unknown if they were to make it out of Jinx’s attack.

The season will likely see Hailee Steinfeld’s Vi back living in Ekko’s Firelight utopia in the undercity. And despite Jinx sparing Vi’s sister and choosing to kill Silco, the bond between her and Vi may not be repairable. Some have speculated that the Shimmer-filled beast seen in his lab, Warwick, could be Vi and Jinx’s father, Vander. Perhaps, the second season could see Vander’s daughters dealing with the revelation in their differing ways.

Season 1 of Arcane is available to stream on Netflix worldwide now.
