When it comes to the world of anime and manga, Naruto is arguably the most popular one out there and is loved by fans of all ages. Now even though its sequel Naruto Next Generations doesn’t enjoy the exact same popularity as its predecessor but it still has a huge fan base. Boruto: Naruto Next Generation is written by Ukyō Kodachi and Masashi Kishimoto, and illustrated by Mikio Ikemoto and follows the exploits of Naruto Uzumaki’s son, Boruto Uzumaki, and his ninja team. The current anime run ended with Episode 293 in March and it is not going to return anytime soon, but today we are going to talk about the upcoming chapter of the new Manga or chapter 83 in continuation. So, beware as major spoilers for Boruto – Two Blue Vortex Chapter 5 the same follow below.
Boruto Manga Chapter 86 Spoilers and Full Plot Leaked

The chapter begins as elders want Boruto gone. Shikamaru argues in his favor saying he’s a common enemy against code. Elders are like he still needs to be eliminated. They want Shikamaru to take the name 8th hokage but he still hasn’t. He excuses himself to go meet with Ino. He asks Ino for old records of missions. Ino figures it’s an excuse for him to bring up something else via telepathy. Shikamaru says he doesn’t want anyone else, including the sensory team to hear him. She’s like “but it’s a violation of the rules” and he’s like either you violate them or I don’t talk.
Eida tells Kawaki that the Juubi have sentience. Code ran off somewhere. He doesn’t have control of the guys. And she tells him their targets include Naruto. And Eida is like “also… uh… my life…” and kawaki is like “why are they targeting the seventh” lol he doesn’t care xD doesn’t matter what their goal is, Kawaki says all that’s left is to kill them. Daemon is like “the only ones who know Naruto is alive are us three and Boruto and Sasuke right?” So in other words if the monsters say they’re looking for Naruto, ppl might believe he’s really alive. Not that Daemon cares about anything but his sister tho. Eida’s like “Kawaki where u going?” Kawaki is like “if you wanna know so bad just watch me.” Lol. Then he goes to have a chat with Mitsuki.
Sarada’s thoughts: “I suddenly hugged him without thinking… but what should I do now? Idk what to talk about… even tho there’s so much I wanna ask…” Sumire casually starts chatting. “It’s been three years, hasn’t it Boruto-kun. I’m glad you seem alright.” Boruto: “Ah… Class press also (wasn’t affected? -> Japanese tends to not include this part cuz it’s implied) And also Sarada! Even tho I didn’t think you’d tackle me”. Sarada: “do you have any idea how worried I was?” Anyways they talk about how Boruto came there to tell her about Sasuke being turned into a ten tails, and he says he’s erased his chakra so no one but Kawaki knows where he is. Even then he doesn’t have much time. He explains a little about the new evolved forms of ten tails.
Kawaki tells Mitsuki that Boruto is in the village again (More explanation on Boruto’s part about the Shinju). Mitsuki contacts Shikamaru and tells him Boruto is in the village. He wants to have Eida search out his exact location. Mitsuki wants to go himself cuz Boruto can sense Kawaki’s presence. He doesn’t wanna let him get away. Boruto explains how Code’s karma could potentially be involved with the shinju. Shikamaru telepathically connects to Boruto via Ino and tells him not to let it show on his face. Boruto says if he’s sure it’s okay to be talking to him as he is hokage. Shikamaru: “I’m technically not yet. Listen, get outta there.” Cue Mitsuki – I’ve been waiting for you, mitsuki no, shut up Sarada, etc.
He uses a move called Enei raishashu which is like shadow snake something. Boruto combats it with Shiden. Mitsuki is like “you darned otsutsuki”. Boruto mid air says “Sarada. I promise I’ll save all the ppl who became shinju. And then…” There’s some secret eye contact communication that we don’t understand the meaning of but clearly Boruto and Sarada do; and then he flies away. Boruto is like “Shikamaru it’d be great if u could order these guys to stand down and not get in my way.” Shikamaru says since “Konoha wants you eliminated I can’t exactly act in your favor sorry. I don’t exactly believe you, but I’ll lend you my aid in whatever way I can. In exchange, you’ll cooperate with me as well.”
He asks if Boruto is really Uzumaki Boruto suggesting that Shikamaru knows! He hypothesizes his memories are fake along with Amado. Ino questions is he for real right now. While Boruto asks how far the teleportation range extends and then while he’s saying it’s within a 100m range of Konoha, Boruto says, “Sorry to interrupt, but I’ve got company.” Cue Mitsuki again. This is where the chapter ends.
Two Blue Vortex Chapter 6 Release Date and Time
According to Manga Plus, Boruto Chapter 86 will be officially released online on Friday, January 19, 2024 in the monthly V-Jump issue along with Dragon Ball Super Chapter 100 among others. Fans can access the latest chapters of the series on both Viz and Shueisha’s Manga Plus. Obviously, the release time for the chapter will vary depending on the regions, some of which are mentioned below:
- Pacific Time – 7 am
- Eastern Time – 10 am
- British Time – 3 pm
- European Time – 4 pm
- India Time – 7.30 pm
- Philippine Time – 10 pm
- Australia Central Time – 12.30 am (January 20)
