Daredevil: Born Again is an upcoming Marvel show that will focus on the superhero character of Daredevil or Matt Murdock played by Charlie Cox. Murdock made his MCU debut in Spider-Man: No Way Home and has since appeared in multiple projects like She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and Echo. Even if the character has only made brief appearances throughout the MCU, he is a fan favorite thanks to the Netflix Marvel show that ran for three seasons. If you’ve seen Echo then you know Marvel Studios has canonized all its Netflix assets. Given Echo’s ending, the road going forward for Daredevil won’t be easy as Kingpin is running for Mayor. Daredevil: Born Again New Leak Confirms Karen and Foggy Death!
Daredevil: Born Again is currently in the process of being retooled, this gives insiders the perfect opportunity to leak plot summaries for us. The newest leak for the show is actually the most detailed yet and I’m inclined to believe that this will more or less be the story of Daredevil: Born Again. According to the leak, Matt has hung up the cowl of Daredevil as he was not able to save Karen and Foggy from a hit that was ordered by the Kingpin (Fisk). The hit takes place off-screen.
The story is set one year after this incident. Matt is trying to forget his failure of saving his friends. He is dating Heather Glenn, a couples’ therapist. Glenn also happens to be treating Fisk and Vanessa whose marriage has grown bitter with time. Fisk is no longer the Kingpin, as he is the Mayor of New York city and has started a government approved anti-vigilante program that targets superheroes like Daredevil, Punisher and Spider-Man. Sometime later, Matt meets Kirsten McDuffie who is a lawyer and she asks Matt to join their legal firm.
Matt joins this new firm and he shares a great chemistry with McDuffie. However, Matt decides to stay loyal to Heather. Things take a turn when Matt finds out that some corrupt cops are using Punisher as a scapegoat for all their crimes. This forces Matt to come out of retirement. The Punisher aka Frank Castle also joins Matt and starts FRANK’ing again. This is how we see our favorite Daredevil… being born again. The return of Daredevil and Punisher to the streets makes headlines.
Fisk panics and goes on an autism spiral. He blackmails Buck Cashman, a corrupt FBI agent who works for him to capture Daredevil. Despite his best efforts, Cashman is not successful and eventually goes crazy becoming the supervillain Bullet. While Matt is dealing with Fisk, he has to also fight other villains like Tenfingers – a former member of The Hand and Muse – a serial killer who kills people to make art out of them. We are also introduced to Ben Urich’s niece, B.B. Urich and who is trying to expose Fisk to help his political rival Sheila Rivera.
Going forward, Fisk’s assistant, Danny Blade is revealed to be his illegitimate child that he had from a hooker when he was a teenager. In the end, Fisk finds out that Heather is Matt’s girlfriend and despite Matt not getting any information from her, Fisk thinks that she has leaked all the intel to Matt and kills Heather. Finally, Matt along with Castle, Kirsten and B.B. expose Fisk for the crime lord that he is. Sheila Rivera becomes the Mayor of New York city and Fisk goes back to being the Kingpin.
Castle bids adieu to Matt as he goes on his own revival spin-off adventures. Matt on the other hand, stays in New York and protects the city ahead of his scheduled appearance in Spider-Man 4, if and when that comes. Of course, final choice to believe these leaks rest upon you!
