Jujutsu Kaisen is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Gege Akutami. It has been serialised in Shueisha’s shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump since March 2018. The manga has also been translated into an anime which aired its first season in 2020 as well as an anime film Jujutsu Kaisen 0 worldwide earlier this year. The story follows high school student Yuji Itadori as he joins a secret organization of Jujutsu Sorcerers in order to kill a powerful Curse named Ryomen Sukuna, of whom Yuji becomes the host. As it happens Jujustsu Kaisen Chapter 197 is all set to release this week and following is a detailed plot summary as well as official release time of the upcoming chapter.

The exchanges that Maki had with Miyo hadn’t even taken 1 minute. Naoya keeps raising his speed but Maki can keep up, “What the hell?” x2 (from Naoya). It’s almost like she’s now able to see the air and can dodge attacks that change directions. Miyo hits with a “Sixty Four” (just a really strong headbutt), and Hagane slices slices Naoya in two with the sword – “Impossible! Impossible! Impossible!”. From one half, Naoya in human form emerges, Domain Expansion!!
Naoya is angry and he launches an attack while chasing Naoya maki starts thinking of her old self and how she has changed because of Maki. Naoya goes to attack Maki but she dodges. Maki seems to be able to see the temperature and the density of the atmosphere around and grasp a hold of it. While Naoya is angry and finds this pointless that someone with no curse energy like maki can hit his cursed spirit form, then Miyo and daido hit him.
Naoya is severely hurt and is angry at the outcome, thinking maki resembles touji. Naoya says that he will be the one standing on that side (the same side that he sees Toji and now Maki on). At the end, human Naoya rises from the spirit and says he will be the one standing. Chapter ends with him using his domain expansion. This is where the chapter ends and the good thing is that there will be no break next week.

The manga usually releases new chapters every week, and Chapter 197 is no different. The official English translation of Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 197 is scheduled to be available worldwide on September 11, 2022.
