God of War Ragnarok All Confirmed Boss Fights So Far

God of War: Ragnarok is one of the most anticipated games right now. Slated for a 2022 release, it isn’t very far now and the hype is rising by the day. Those who have beaten God of War (2018) can’t help but speculate what’s next in store for our favourite demi-god and his “boy”. As you may well know, God of War (2018) is often considered one of the best games ever made, so one can imagine the pressure of topping that with this sequel.

Anyways, the first trailer was released during last year’s Playstation showcase and from that many things became quite clear. We know that Ragnarok is upon Midguard and that Kratos, Boy, and Head aim to stop it with the help of Tyr (Norse God of War). In their path they are sure to find some new allies and enemies. In this list we will excite you with the upcoming boss fights which are basically confirmed as well as a few potential bosses.

5. Centaur (The Stalker)

In the trailer, we saw Kratos go up against a Centaur like creature who is surely a boss in the upcoming game. The creature may not be a major boss, but looks like one of the easier mini-bosses in the game. It’s also possible that we see more of such centaurs called “Stalkers” in the game. Also, since Centaurs don’t seem to be a part of Norse mythology, they seem to depict the Greek side of the game. So, it looks like we will explore more of Kratos’ past in the upcoming game.

4. Dark Elf or Mummy?

If you have a keen eye, you will also notice a dark elflike creature going toe to toe against Kratos. Again, it doesn’t seem like a major boss but it could be a boss just like “Traveller” or Dark Elf from God of War (2018). Also, is it a light elf gone dark/corrupted or a new mummy like creature? Is Santa Monica foreshadowing Kratos’ visit to Egypt? Fans sure have been rooting to see Kratos go up against Egyptian Gods and this might a little teaser for the same. But it is most probably going to be a corrupted Light Elf.

3. Giant Crocodile (Dreki)

Moving on to a little tougher looking bosses in the game, we saw a huge killer crocodile leaping straight towards Kratos from the sky. This looks like a difficult fight and might be around the same difficulty level as Hraezlyr (Dragon) from God of War (2018). It seems like either Dreki can fly or jump really high which will cause splash damage and what not while landing. Anyways, this sure would be an interesting fight and maybe one of the hardest ones as from the trailer it seemed like Kratos was fighting him alone with no sign of Atreus.

2. Freya

There are only a furious things more severe and dangerous than a mother’s wrath. Freya who was a very useful ally in God of War (2018) ended up hating Kratos by the end since he killed her son Baldr. Freya, who was grieving in that moment, cursed Kratos but did not attack. Well, the grief has clearly now turned into vengeance as we see her attacking Kratos and Atreus in the trailer. One can see the bloodlust and anger in her eyes but it seems like she might end up being an ally again. But that doesn’t mean she won’t fight with all she’s got and that will probably make her one of the toughest boss fights in the game.

1. Thor

Ever since Kratos became one of the most popular video game characters ever, fans have been wanting to see him go up against Thor. In God of War: Ragnarok, that is not just possible but almost a guarantee. God of War (2018) spent a lot of time setting up Thor and Odin as the main antagonists of this saga which is shaping up to be a trilogy. We even saw Thor’s appearance in the 2018 game and heard him for the first time in the first trailer for Ragnarok. “Are you a calm and reasonable person”, we hear Ryan Hurst’s Thor ask someone, apparently Kratos. So yes, Thor might be the big bad of the next game and will surely make up for the most difficult battle that Kratos has faced yet.

The above mentioned ones are the confirmed bosses that will surely see in the upcoming game. There a few other bosses which have been rumored to be in the game or fans expect them to be in it. So, here are a few potential bosses we hope to see in God of War: Ragnarok.

  • Odin – It’s all been building up to Odin and he might be the final boss in the potential third game in the Norse saga or this one itself. So, if in case a thrid game happens, it is possible for Odin to appear in God of War: Ragnarok as a cameo or teaser, but he might not be a boss in this one.
  • Angrboda – The mother of Fenrir and Hel, Angrboda was seen in the trailer as well and she will most likely be an ally. But it is being speculated that she might be a major boss in the game’s shocking twist. This is just a speculation, so do not go berserk.
  • Lady Sif – Thor’s loyal friend Lady Sif might also appear in the game, and as a boss no less. Being close to Thor, she might make up for the Magni and Modi- like fight from the first game.
  • Heimdallr – Same reasons as Lady Sif
  • Hel, Surtr and Fenrir – Goddess of death Hel, Surtr the fire giant, and the wolf Fenrir have a major role to play in Ragnarok along with the Serpent. Its said when Ragnarok occurs Serpent would devour Thor as well as Midguard, Fenrir would swallow the Sun, Odin will ride one last time only to be killed by Fenrir, and finally Surtr would turn Asgard to ashes and die along with it. So, considering that the following game/s would showcase Ragnarok and the events following it, we can be damn sure we’ll see some of these guys.

Again, these were just speculations, so do not rely on it but sure, get hyped. We may not see all of them, but we will sure as hell see some of them. Anyways. it’s not that long a wait now and we will see what’s in store for our heroes when God of War: Ragnarok finally arrives!

  1. Do u think they would ever make it a co-op mode so u and a friend can team up one person playing as Kratos and One controlling atreus completely

    1. Co-op in story based RPG’s is a rare sight. As for God of War, we might never see it. So in short, no.
