Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is the newest D&D adaptation. Previously, the game was adapted into a film in 2000. Least to say the film wasn’t great but it did get two sequels, one was a made for TV movie and the other was a direct-to-DVD film. The films came out in 2005 and 2012 respectively. So, when I say D&D: Honor Among Thieves is the best iteration of the game presented on the big screen I won’t be wrong. However, it has been a tough year for big budget films and much like many others Honor Among Thieves despite having good critical reception, didn’t impress anyone with its box office numbers. film mounted on a budget of $200 million, only collected $205.4 million in its theatrical run. Of course, a box office failure. So, will a box office failure get a sequel? Let’s find out.
Will There Be A Dungeons and Dragons 2?
In a recent interview with GamesRadar, Chris Pine was asked about the possibility of Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, as the film didn’t enjoy commercial success. Pine was sport enough to take up the question and in fact did offer some information on the matter. He said that he’s heard “rumors” of the sequel happening, and while he can’t say for completely certain that it will come to be, Pine teases that he’s “confident” that it will. Noting that he would “absolutely” return if asked, the actor explained, “I’ve heard some rumors about it. But I don’t know anything yet. But I feel pretty confident that it may happen.”
The film stars Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Sophia Lillis, Regé-Jean Page, Hugh Grant, and Justice Smith. Game Night directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein are handling the writing and directing for the film.
