Kung Fu Panda 4 received an exciting update amid the ongoing actor’s strike. In August 2022, the fourth instalment to the Jack Black-led franchise was announced by Dreamworks. Aside from the confirmation, the studio gave the fourth film of the franchise a release date. In September 2023, the film promotion subtly began with the unveiling of official poster art.
What to Expect in Kung Fu Panda 4
Theatrical executive of Universal Pictures, Hernán Viviano’s confidence regarding Kung Fu Panda 4’s release in March is a sign that the film will not be delayed. We don’t know if the cast has already done their voice work for part 4. Once the strike is over, if not all most of the cast members will be inside the recording booth to finish their work.
Via The Wrap, Jack Black in CinemaCon in April 2023, spearheaded the promotion of KFP 4, disclosing interesting details and giving hints about his performance as Po. The return of Kung Fu Panda on the big screen will showcase Po’s search to find his heir to become the new Dragon Warrior. Alongside the tracking of his future replacement, Po will find himself clashing against Chameleon. Chameleon is a villain who can bring back the spirits of his past enemies. In September 2023, official art presented the first look at an anthropomorphic fox named Zhen. Zhen is believed to be the successor Po is looking for.
The cast includes Angelina Jolie, Jack Black, Jackie Chan, Dustin Hoffman, Seth Rogen, Lucy Liu, and newcomer Awkwafina. Kung Fu Panda 4 is still set to premiere in theaters on March 8, 2024.
