The start of 2024 might’ve seemed dull to us but surprisingly there is a lot of movement in theatres. All the films that quietly released in December last year are still pulling audiences to the cinemas. Notably, films like Anyone But You, Wonka, Poor things, Migration and even Aquaman 2 are still chipping away at the box office. I think it is fair to say that the first sleeper hit of 2024 is the Mean Girls reboot. The film was made on a reported budget of $36 million and has grossed $101.8 million so far. It is still a notch below the original motion picture that grossed $130.1 million worldwide but considering it is a musical and not a huge IP, these numbers are still delightful.
If you’re an avid Mean Girls fan and trust me I know a few, then I assume you want to have a copy of the film to yourself, well, you will have to wait for a while as its scheduled physical media release date is far away.
Mean Girls (2024) Physical Media Release Date Is Far Away!
According to a new listing on dvdreleasedates, Mean Girls (2024) will be available for purchase on physical media platforms like DVD and Blu-ray formats on April 30th, 2024. The film just had its digital debut today i.e., February 20th, 39 days after its theatrical debut. the online debut of the film was postponed. Originally, the film was supposed to debut digitally a week earlier, on February 13th.
I’m not aware why it was delayed but I think it was to capitalize on a longer and more exclusive theatrical run.We don’t have any update on the film’s streaming release date or platform but it should be around the same time as the DVD and Blu-ray release.
The 2024 Mean Girls stars Angourie Rice, Reneé Rapp, Auli’i Cravalho, Christopher Briney, Jaquel Spivey Bebe Wood, Avantika Vandanapu, Brian Altemus, Tina Fey, Tim Meadows, Jenna Fischer, Busy Philipps, Jon Hamm, Ashley Park, Mahi Alam and Connor Ratliff.
