In Red Dead Redemption 2, you don't exactly level u

After their immense success with Grand Theft Auto V way back in 2013, Rockstar Games released their next game in 2018, Red Dead Redemption 2, a sequel to their very successful survival game Red Dead Redemption that released in 2010. Both games proved to be industry defining titles and are in the top ten best selling games of all-time. I don’t need to hype Red Dead Redemption 2 for you. Most of the people in the world believe it to be one of the best games ever made. I personally know many people who are avid gamers and rate Red Dead Redemption II as the best game they’ve ever played.

Now you might agree or disagree with this statement, that’s up to you. However, if you’re reading this article then I know you at least like the game. Well, you’re about to like it even more as there is a big update on the horizon.

When Will Red Dead Redemption II Update Come?

Despite its release in 2018, there are at least 32,000 people playing RDR 2 on Steam alone, in addition to many new players joining everyday. However, despite such numbers Rockstar games hasn’t had a substantial DLC update for the game in a while. While Rockstar’s complete attention seems to be on GTA VI as of now, but many behind the scene changes on Steam suggest a new update is inevitable.

PCGamesN noticed that the backend activity of Red Dead Redemption 2 is blowing up. Almost every day in 2024, the game has received a backend update. SteamDB made things more clear for us as they track every tweak that a developer makes to the game even if it isn’t noted publicly. I understand that just because the developer has been making constant changes over the last month means that an update is imminent but the speed at which these updates are hitting are very frequent than normal.

For instance, PCGamesN reported that there wasn’t a single update to RDR 2 from September 4th to October 2nd last year. With 72 happening in just a few months, certainly make things exciting. Something is happening behind the scenes for sure. I’d like to once again stress that this doesn’t mean a new DLC is guaranteed but we’re definitely getting something.

Maybe it’s some kind of new event in Red Dead Online, but even that would be welcomed from veteran players. Either way, it won’t be much longer before Rockstar fans have something to dig their teeth into.
