Oppenheimer collects rs. 100 crores in India!

While the world is celebrating the success of Gadar 2 and Jailer, people have not forgotten the film that actually started this frenzy in theatres. Oppenheimer despite being a R-rated biographical drama, has become a global sensation. The biggest reason for the success of this film is of course Christopher Nolan. The unanimous love that the filmmaker receives from across the world is unparalleled. Audiences walk in to his movies for him and not for anyone else. His narratives have inspired almost an entire generation of filmmakers. Just when you must’ve thought that the glorious box office run of Oppenheimer has ended, the film is back making headlines as Oppenheimer has achieved another huge milestone.

Oppenheimer Becomes Nolan’s 4th Highest Grossing Film!

Deadline reports that Oppenheimer will cross Interstellar’s $715.7 million lifetime collection today. The film is reported to earn $718 million by the end of its fifth weekend. This outstanding figure is thanks to Oppenheimer’s amazing performance in the international markets. Out of the $718 million, $432 million has come from outside the US and Canada.

Despite having tough competition in markets like India, Oppenheimer has managed collect a hefty sum. The Christopher Nolan directorial has crossed the ₹150 crore mark in India despite facing off box office juggernauts like Gadar 2, OMG 2, Jailer and Rocky aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Oppenheimer’s $718 million also means that the film is now Nolan’s 4th highest grosser ever. Considering the market trends, the film will remain in this spot and won’t topple Inception’s $837.1 million lifetime collection. Take a look at Christopher Nolan’s highest-grossing movies at the worldwide box office (as per Box Office Mojo):

  • The Dark Knight Rises – $1.081 billion
  • The Dark Knight – $1.006 billion

  • Tenet – $365.3 million
  • Insomnia – $113.7 million
  • The Prestige – $109.6 million
