RRR Box Office Reaches 700 Crore Mark, Surpasses Baahubali 1 Review

RRR is historical fiction film that released in 2022 and absolutely exploded amongst the audiences because of the sheer scale of it. The director of the film was S.S. Rajamouli and I don’t think he needs further introduction as he is one of the most revered directors in the Indian Film Industry who has given us films like Magadheera, Makkhi, Bahubali: The Beginning and Bahubali: The Conclusion. While his earlier films were a big hit in the South Indian belt, his later films like Bahubali were a Pan-India explosion. The first Bahubali was merely the start but the sequel was even bigger as the film broke numerous records. The hype around the film was something that was unseen and unheard for an Indian film. So, everyone was excited about Rajamouli’s next venture and he didn’t disappoint.

Once again the director gave us a spectacle to marvel at. He revived the dying theatres after Covid-19 as his film demanded the audiences to step out of their houses watch the film on the big screen. The premise of RRR is, Set in the 1920s, the plot explores the undocumented period in their lives when both the revolutionaries chose to go into obscurity before they began the fight for their country. N. T. Rama Rao Jr.” It looks like we Indians were not the only one impressed by Rajamouli’s spectacle, as the Academy has nominated the film for an Oscar.

RRR Keeps India Alive In Oscar Race!

The Academy Awards of Merit revealed their list of pre-nominations today where RRR has been shortlisted for one Oscar, despite the film being submitted for multiple categories, including Best Picture and Best Director. It is important to know that The Hollywood Reporter has only revealed shortlists for 10 categories, so in these 10 categories RRR has only made its mark once but may be the film has a chance in the other unannounced categories. So, without any ado let’s see in which category did the movie impressed the Academy.

Apart from RRR, there is another Indian film that is still in the Oscar race and it seems like that film has a better chance to keep India alive in the Oscar race than Rajamouli’s spectacle. The film I’m talking about is the one that impressed many Indians:
