Amidst all the changes that are going on at DC, the other departments at Warner Bros. seem to also face the burn. I don’t know how much of the merger with Discovery has helped and how much is actually backfiring. After a lot of cancellations last year, Warner Bros. have claimed another two victims in the new year and they happen to be the fan favorite DC shows Doom Patrol and Titans. However, unlike others Warner Bros. is allowed both the shows one season to wrap up their narratives and have an end instead of an abrupt cancellation. The fourth and final season was split into two parts, with the first batch of episodes dropping from December 8, 2022 to January 5, 2023. However, for the longest time we haven’t had any update on Part 2’s release. Well, that changes today.
Doom Patrol Season 4 Part 2 Might Come Out Soon!
Doom Patrol has been an ongoing live-action series since 2019, following the superhero team from Grant Morrison’s DC Comics. According to a report from Entertainment Weekly (EW) Doom Patrol Season 4 Part 2 will debut on Max sometime this October. This news comes right after actress Michelle Gomez expressed her concerns that the second part was binned, “I have a sinking feeling the final installment of ‘Doom Patrol’ was binned. If this really is the case then get ready for a huge dump of my own. #bummer #we #are #doomed #sadface”
Thankfully, no one needs to worry about Gomez’s comments following this official update. It’s rumored that the Season 4 Part 2’s premiere date will be Thursday, October 12. Director Bosede Williams in an interview with EW revealed, “We knew that it should be dark and completely disorienting, because the characters have never seen anything like it. It should be gloomy, just to really take them out of their elements.” He further added, “They are deeply affected. It’s a real turning point for every single character. It’s a massive thing that they’re going to be struggling with, and some of them are conflicted. Some of them are okay with that and want to move on, but then others are not so sure.”
DCU’s next movie: Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will release on 20th March 2023.
