Joker 2: Folie à Deux is once again written and directed by Todd Phillips but with a twist. It is not a generic sequel rather a curious one. Joker 2 is reportedly a musical and another peculiar detail about the sequel is that it might be told entirely from Harley Quinn’s perspective. Who plays Harley Quinn? Well, it is not Margot Robbie since it is an DC Elseworlds story. Lady Gaga has been tasked to bring this version of Harley Quinn to life. Filming began last year and in a quick turn of events we got our first look at Joaquin and soon after that Gaga in their roles. It was not long before we got many leaked set photos that revealed Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker in Gotham once again and today we have the full leaked video that shows Harley Quinn and Arthur Curry dancing.
Joker 2: Folie à Deux New Set Video Is A Reference To A Scene From The First Film!
The new set video doesn’t reveal anything new about the sequel. The video pretty much shows us the same stairs location that we saw in the leaked set photos. However, the video shows us almost the entire scene. It looks like the ending of the film. A moment where both the leads are madly in love with each other. Emphasis on the “madly”. The scene also is a nod to the first Joker where we saw Joaquin Phoenix dancing on the stairs before the boarding the train to go to Murray’s talk show. We can expect something similar here, just before the climax a romantic dance between the two love birds. We also see that Harley is taken away at the end of the video by the police. Indicating that this moment might come after the bloody climax which is why she is taken away.

As I’d said before the title “Folie à Deux” means a type of mental illness shared between two close people. Where can Joaquin’s Arthur Fleck find someone who shares a similar mental illness as him? Well his best bet would the Arkham Asylum. Both characters can find comfort in each and other as they’d empathize.
The first Joker movie featured an incredible ensemble cast that included Robert De Niro, Frances Conroy, Shea Whigham, Bill Camp, and Brett Cullen as Thomas Wayne. Let me know your thoughts on these latest updates. Are you excited for Joker 2? What do you think a comic book musical movie be like?
