My Hero Academia Laugh As If You Are in Hell OVA Full Episode Leaked

The Laugh As If You Are in Hell episode was described as having Detective Conan vibes and being a bit silly, but at the same time filled with little fun moments including the three musketeers, Endeavor & the agency. Here’s the description of the OVA as provided by @shibuyassmash who viewed the OVA in a select theatre in Japan.

Episode Summary – A string of graffiti incidences happen across Endeavor’s jurisdiction during winter vacation, and the culprit is a self-proclaimed artist named Mr. Smiley. Due to Mr. Smiley’s Quirk, he’s able to evade capture. The police ask Endeavor for help but since he considers it a minor offense, he tells the police to deal with it themselves. That is, until Mr. Smiley vandalizes Endeavor’s own house with graffiti.

Overview – EA fails to get Smiley with everyone falling into laughter multiple times. Endeavor trains Bakugo to fight blindfolded, but Midoriya jumps in to protect the art. Smiley is impressed by Midoriya & when robbers show up, Smiley helps stop them. It was fluffy but feels like it shows more of the world instead of just being a stand alone comedy bit.

Introduction – Episode is narrated by Midoriya, he introduces that they’re interning with Endeavor & we open with the musketeers with Endeavor as the police explain the Mr. Smiley graffiti incidents. Endeavor just says he’ll look out for the guy, he’s not interested in it. Later Endeavor is in his casual clothes being driven home by Kurumada, and when he gets home there’s weird graffiti with a cat on the wall outside. Endeavor gets SO mad he lights up his fire, burning off his clothes to reveal his hero suit underneath. This kicks off the episode.

Mr. Smiley – Mr. Smiley’s Quirk is that if you see his face and he activates his Quirk you’ll be struck by laughter. The effects last for two hours and there were many crazy moments in the show where our characters couldn’t help but laugh and the episode cut to 2 hours later.

Deku, Bakugo and Shoto Laugh – Our new big three laugh multiple times throughout the episode. Midoriya laughs like after the Stain arc or the end of WHM, Bakugo’s laughter is like when he laughed at illusion-roki, and Todoroki’s laughter is barely audible as he doubles over trying to hold in the laughter. One great thing was that the big three aren’t separated in any big way and they work together with the Endeavor Agency the whole time.

Episode Progression – The first time they go after Mr Smilely they’re confident they can avoid being hit by his Quirk but they all fail. Midoriya gets hit when jumping towards Smiley and ends up crashing into a wall. Endeavor ignites his fire while laughing & starts melting the road around him, Bakugo does AP shot with his eyes closed but then checks & starts laughing, Shoto freezes Smiley from a safe distance but then Smiley throws a ball with a recording of his Quirk. The scene then cuts to 2 hours later where they’re all in Endeavor’s big office on the couch, looking totally exhausted & defeated.

Later, Todoroki proposes maybe they can use his ice or Endeavor’s flames to get Mr. Smiley from a distance, but Midoriya feels like that could be dangerous in the city with civilians around. Midoriya then has an idea and we cut to a little late. Powerloader and Hatsume show up from UA and they brought a robot with them. Armed with Hatsume’s robot they’re ready to face Mr. Smiley a 2nd time. There’s an agency announcement that Smiley has been spotted drawing on a wall in a big public square surrounded by civilians and police laughing.

Midoriya orders the robot to shoot a net when it gets close to Mr. Smiley, but Mr. Smiley turns and uses his Quirk and the robot’s AI is effected— and it breaks down. Yes, you read it right even the robot was effected shocking everyone. Anyways, Bakugo jumps down from where he was hiding above Mr. Smiley but he’s not fast enough and starts laughing as he is starting to spin with his explosion Quirk. He then tricks Midoriya into opening his eyes as well leading him to burst out in laughter too. Mr. Smiley then b-lines for Todoroki and before Todoroki can do anything he’s on the ground quietly laughing again too.

After being defeated again, but Endeavor then seems to have an idea and asks Bakugo if he thinks he could follow his orders with his eyes closed. They then go on to practice it and Endeavour is quite impressed with Bakugo. It is then revealed that Mr. Smiley wanted to be an artist but couldn’t get into art school, so he started doing street art and graffiti. Midoriya quickly feels a connection to him, remembering how he wanted to be a hero against all odds and couldn’t give up on that dream. He then discussed the same with Todoroki.

The Ending – Anyways, once again Mr. Smiley is spotted painting in the middle of an open area and the Endeavor Agency team hides out in various parts of an upper floor where they can look down on Smiley while staying hidden. Endeavor then sends Bakugo out and Bakugo keeps a blindfold on and follows Endeavor’s instructions to get right to Mr. Smiley. This time Mr. Smiley isn’t able to do anything and just before Bakugo is about to blast him and his new art, Midoriya interferes.

Midoriya and Smiley have a heart to heart chat and then some robbers we saw earlier appear and begin shooting. Then there’s a final action sequence where everyone fights together and Mr. Smiley also helps them. The episode ends with everyone at the shopping center laughing, even passed out Bakugo, and since Mr. Smiley’s Quirk works on video too everyone who watches the news is laughing as well.
