The Fall Guy is Universal’s adaptation of Glen A. Larson’s 1980s TV series of the same name. Directed by Deadpool 2 director David Leitch, the movie is expected to have a different spin than the show it is based on. Kelly McCormick is partnering as a producer on The Fall Guy with a script from Drew Pearce who also worked with Leitch on Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw. Ryan Gosling is also a producer with original series creator Glen A. Larson executive producing.

The full synopsis of The Fall Guy reads: He’s a stuntman, and like everyone in the stunt community, he gets blown up, shot, crashed, thrown through windows, and dropped from the highest of heights, all for our entertainment. And now, fresh off an almost career-ending accident, this working-class hero has to track down a missing movie star, solve a conspiracy, and try to win back the love of his life while still doing his day job. What could possibly go right?

- Lee Majors, who starred in the original TV series, will also appear in the film
“It just feels like we’re paying homage to the stunt community,” producer Kelly McCormick told Collider in 2022. “And to, really, cinema and those of us who make the movies. And it’s sort of a love letter to the industry. On top of it just being really fun and what I think will be a really good time for the audience.”
The Fall Guy is scheduled to be released in the United States on March 1, 2024.
