Gadar 2 is now playing in theatres and is an obvious hit. One of the most patriotic movies in the last few years, it features Sunny Deol managing to infiltrate Pakistan. Infiltration movies are quite common these days and they play on the feelings of nationalism among people these days. These movies of course do not do a nuanced representation of international relationships — villainizing Pakistan for every scruple between the two countries. One such upcoming film which is seemingly incorporating this concept seems to be the next instalment in the YRF’s Spy Universe, Tiger 3.
Is Tiger 3 Going To Be A Rip-Off?
The Gadar 2 director was quoted saying, “Films are made, so that relationships can become stronger. Last time, In the first part of Gadar we said the same thing that the whole world functions due to love. There is nothing without love. What else we can say apart from this? We can only speak what’s in our hearts through our films. In the upcoming movie, we have said the same thing. And a lot of people do listen to us including the people of India and Pakistan. Although, I cannot speak about the political angles and backgrounds.” he shared.
Coming to the main subject, we all know Salman Khan is a huge Sunny Deol fan, who stars in Gadar 2. His next movie, Tiger 3 will feature a similar infiltration storyline as well. It is to be seen how many of these similarities are present in the actual film, or if the two just are a part of the same formula of cashing in on nationalistic sentiments to gain as much money as possible. Only time can tell how things are to turn out on Tiger 3. Featuring actors like Emraan Hashmi and Katrina Kaif, the movie is set to release on the 10th of November, 2023.
