Joker 2: Folie à Deux is currently being shot in Los Angeles as you’re reading this. Naturally, the three main people involved in the production are Todd Phillips, Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix. Based on whatever we’ve heard and seen of the film so far, it is going to be a complete mess or a modern masterpiece. Most of the images we’ve seen have been outdoor shots, but the sequel is said to mostly take place in Arkham Asylum. Just last week, a reputed leakster revealed that ‘Folie A Deux’ will tell the story from the perspective of both characters: Harley and The Joker. The film’s main plot will revolve around the music therapy sessions they both have at Arkham Asylum.
Something’s not adding up, right? Everything you’ve heard so far sounds like flamboyant mess. But an on set take has been leaked on the internet and watching it may provide a perspective to all the fans of what the film might be. Watch it below.
Joker 2: First Song Of The Film Revealed!
Joker 2 is supposed to be a diegetic musical, almost like “Cabaret.” Given that the first movie was a King of Comedy/TaxiDriver knock-off, this next one could very well likely be based on another Scorsese directorial, the musical “New York, New York”. Gaga was also heard singing “Couple Of Swells” by Fred Astaire and Judy Garland during an on-set take. Watch the leaked scene from the musical below:

Production on ‘Folie A Deux’ started on November 30th and is said to have a wrap date of April 6th. The film already has an Oct. 4, 2024 release planned, so you can scratch away any hopes of seeing it this year.
The title “Folie à Deux” means a type of mental illness shared between two close people. Where can Joaquin’s Arthur Fleck find someone who shares a similar mental illness as him? Well his best bet would the Arkham Asylum. Both characters can find comfort in each and other as they’d empathize.
