As the script for the Superman reboot is complete- DC has already started looking at perfect candidates to replace Henry Cavill. According to The Hollywood Reporter, DC’s top three choices for the Man of Steel in the Superman: Legacy are: David Corenswet– The actor starred in Ti West’s Pearl last year. Ever since then, the world is literally begging DC to give Superman’s part to Corenswet. Be it his physique, charm or whatever, but he has clearly made an impression on makers of this film and the fans. He is also in his late 20s which fits the requirements easily. Tom Brittney– The British actor also seems to be on the line to play the role of Superman. He has previously starred as Reverend Will Davenport in ITV’s Grantchester. Brittney was also part of films like Make Me Famous and Film Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool.
Andrew Richardson– The last contender in the Superman race according to The Hollywood Reporter is Richardson who has starred in as Kevin Conrad in The Independent and Vince in Killer Among Us. Until last month these were the top choices, but a new report from Variety suggests there is another name in the race.
Pierson Fodé Eyed For Superman: Legacy!
A new report from Variety reveals that Pierson Fodé, the star of Bold and Beautiful and the guest star of Supergirl is also being considered to replace Henry Cavill in James Gunn’s Superman reboot. The report said Fodé who is 31 years old, sent in a self tape which included a montage of footage showing his very Clark Kent-like childhood on a farm in the small town of Moses Lake, Wash. James Gunn reportedly liked what he saw. His other credits include The Man From Toronto, The Real Bros of Simi Valley and It’s Time.
Fodé happens to be the first one after Corenswet to actually being seriously considered for the role of Superman. The announcement of the casting will come soon. Gunn’s decision will certainly be an interesting one to look forward to.
Superman: Legacy is the first movie in the new DC slate and is supposed to release on 11th July 2025.
